Dependencies Issue | SC4

I am a heavy CXL11 user, and recently I decided to upgrade from CXL to SimCity 4 and the installation went so well without any problems. I have 64-bit Windows 7 with powerful graphics and video card, and SimCity 4 game seems to run extremely smooth, without any problems being Windows 7 computer with XP-compatible game; even though it is not in a compatible version.

Anyway, I've decided that I'll fetch some mods for SC4 game and downloaded around 10 non-dependency buildings from Simtropolis STEX and extracted it to the Plugins folder and start to play the game. As when I plop the non-dependency mods, it appears in the big brown box? Big brown box only means if I don't have the dependency file attached to the mod. What am I doing wrong?

First, are you playing SimCity 4 or SimCity 4 Deluxe (or Rush Hour)? Most material on the STEX requires the newer version. If you do have deluxe, and if you're positive they don't have Dependencies, you may need to download the two bldgprop files and place them in the Plugins folder. You can get them here. They are needed by items created with Maxis props.

If that doesn't seem to solve the problem, you might post the names of the items you are using to get more specific assistance.

No, the Deluxe release combined the original SimCity 4 and Rush Hour, which was an expansion pack, not a patch. As for finding things on the exchanges that will work with the original game, you'll probably need to stick to older files that were created in 2003 and maybe 2004.

SimCity 4 Deluxe is probably not too difficult to find. It is also available in the the SimCity Box set. Or if you're interested, it can be bought and downloaded form such sites as Steam and Amazon.

It will be cheaper to get the Deluxe version, I think the Rush Hour extension will be hard to find. Try amazon.com, or one of the gaming sites like Steam. Also, look in the big discount stores, like Walmart, or Target.
