    anyway to restrict buildings?

lets say if building A has been built, i dont want another one to pop out

but other buildings are not limited

its painful to see amazing mods to just spam (im not trying to diss anyone) over my city while other mods wont get their chance to shine (along with vanilla buildings)

There is no mod (that I know of) that does this. You would have to do it manually using the bulldozer and "Make Historical" tools.

    Hey, Welcome to ST!

I'm afraid the closest mod is 'Goodbye Wren' or something similar, but nothing you're looking for. You'll have to do what Jacksunny said; continue growing the lot and bulldozing until something you want comes up. Many lots have a ploppable landmark version, which is OK to use if you don't like cheating; just make sure you have the right demand and money in your coffers. I wouldn't recommend this for residential lots, though.

    Keep calm and take photographs.

Depending on whether the building is downloaded or a Maxis building, there are two ways of stopping a building being built again.

If the building is custom content, and in its files include a separate .SC4lot and .SC4desc, then if you remove the .SC4lot file from your plugins folder, that building will not be able to grow again, but any instances of it already in your city will still be functional. Note that you must have a .SC4desc file for this to work. Some people combine the the lot and description file, in which case this will not work. Also, you must remember to return the .SC4lot file to your plugins folder if you want that building to grow at a latter time.

Now, the above will not work if the building is one of the Maxis set, as these files are all in one .dat file. But with a little effort you can block them as well. To start with, you will need Maxis Lot Editor and ilive Reader. Now if you haven't used lot editor before, Maxis buildings are a bit difficult to find due to most of their lots using building families and labeling being based on wealth and RCI class, growth stage, and size (ie they are labeled something like R$$2_1x2, which means a middle class residential building with growth stage 2 and is 1 tile wide by two tiles deep). Once you get the hang of this, you can figure out which lot you want, open it in the Lot Editor, and then hit Save As. This new lot will overwrite all instances of the Maxis original. Now open this lot in iLive Reader. ILive Reader is a difficult program, but for your purpose you are only looking in the exemplar file for a listing that should be titled Stage (there maybe another word there, I am doing this from memory and it has been months since I opened that program) with a number between 1-8 to the right (unless a CAM lot, in which case it is 1-15. Once you click on this, another window should open, change the number that is 1-8 to a 9 (unless you are using the CAM mod, in which case it would have to be 0 or 16). Make sure to hit all buttons labeled apply in the window, and to save your lot file. You have now made the Maxis lot a stage that is higher than can grow in game and therefore unable to grow again in your cities. If you wish to get this lot growing again elsewhere, remember to remove the modified lot.

    Hope that has been helpful!
