Over the years i've installed many 3dsMax's versions on a few machines. But after a while this message pops um and I can't do anything again until I re-install the full OS.

I need to know if it really is an OS fault or the app and how do I solve it! Any help?

Clearly, something has been stepped on. Can you retreat to your last cleanpoint?

I hope you don't run that program in an administrative account. It shouldn't be able to step on things.

Its not a program, It's a built-in function in winXP (at least), the System Files Checker. Unfortunately It didn't solve the problem. I'm out of ideas and the web is empty on this 7.gif

I restored to the last point (a week ago). The problem persists. Restoring didn't solve it... So its caused by something the restoring point doesn't cover...

Guess I wasn't clear. I meant that you don't run 3DSMax in an admin account. Ordinary user programs should never be run there.

My accounts have always been administrators account and have never really had any problems except for this one... Next time I'll install it on a different account. So... no solution known then?

Xylo: Neither the Torrent format nor p2p sharing is illegal in ANY country and you shouldn't make assumptions on my folders. This being said, even though it's not any of your concern, I am not running pirated software. But since it bothers you that much I edited the picture so maybe now you'll focus on the problem.

This kind of thing needs personal presence, I think. Too many variables. Try your favorite geekish friend.

Are there any updates to 3dsMAX that you have not installed? This problem properly belongs to the software originator.

After a lot of research on computer I've manage to find the cause for the problem and the solution. The answer is here:

    Screenshot2012-04-24at35934PM.jpg

Because of performance enhancement I was unchecking all but the necessary services (including Autodesk License Service and the MentalRay services).

This was causing the application to fail on launch.

Checking them back and re-starting fixed the problem.

    PROBLEM SOLVED
