Interesting that you have gone to all the trouble of making a video tutorial. Very creative.

You can suppress the EA Games advertising by adding the option -info:off to your shortcut's command line. Note that all options are like words and need a leading space.

    Regarding your first video:

You spent too much money too fast. Why did you zone $$ that early in the game? You should always start with $.

Why did you buy a police station? There is no crime at all because there is no development. Fire Stations are a must as fire can destroy your city, but not crime. It can lower the desirability, but not destroy.

Even one Fire Station would have been fine. The trucks can travel out of the coverage area you know.

Water is very costly. It should have been built at a later time.

And you said this yourself. There are no services!!! You will never get $$ with no services.

You should have zoned more residential at around 7:08 when the current zone was filled.

Why did you change those streets to roads at 8:12? Just because there are a lot of vehicles doesn't mean a lot of people are using it. Use the route query tool to check.

What was the point of having traffic lights at 9:30. Nobody is using that avenue or the streets. Again, you should have waited until they are being utilized.

The coal power plants funding should have been lowered as soon as you built it. That was just a lot of money down the drain.

And finally, you are making your zones way too big.

    The second video:

Why did you place the library so far in the corner at 2:57? It would have been better off by the school, which was placed in a good spot.

I also have a reccomendation. You are zoning your industrial along the edge of your city to prevent pollution. This is fine, but you are eventually going to run into problems with commute times. I suggest building an avenue around the industry to give the Sims a faster way to get to work.

In case you were wondering, you can rotate the camera view using the pg. up and pg. down buttons and the adviser pop ups can be shut off in the options menu.

Maybe its me, but I think you should articulate more clearly. It there any way for you to re-record your sound track after the fact?

Yes I know I'm hard to understand, but maybe you could bear with me since I'm a soft speaker and not a loud speaker.

That's perfectly fine, I'm not a loud chatter myself. I do have a 'reading voice', though. I'm not trying to put you down, but remember that YouTube is an audio-visual site, whereas Simtropolis is a text based site where tone is less of an issue. You should really make your videos easy to understand, or nobody will get much help from them. I can understand most of what you say with the volume at a reasonable level, but sometimes it feels like you trail off/begin mumbling under your breath.

Well, you need to understand that if you are going to teach, you need to develop a better elocution. Do you ever speak in pubic? I have been a teacher for many years, and speaking clearly and concisely is one of the most important attributes you can develop. As yoshi says, you need to work on your "speaking voice". It is very important in a teaching situation.

This is constructive criticism from one who has been there and done that. I want to help you develop. Try moving your voice up a few notes, say a fifth interval and see what happens. You kind of speak in a "singing" voice.

It's better than the first couple, but I still have a couple problems with the video. Like everyone else here, I want to help you.

-Why did you build such a lengthy elevated highway system when you said yourself it was too early for one? It would make more sense to leave a right of way for your highway (perhaps with a 'limited access avenue') until you accumulated enough traffic to warrant such an expensive freeway.

-Why did you zone so much in the beginning, and why was so much of it residential? I noticed you went back and rezoned some areas to commercial, which I suppose isn't horrible practice, but you might want to plan that better from the beginning.

-Lastly, your speaking has improved, but I think you should move your mouth a little bit farther away from the mic. Your volume is good, but I can hear your breathing a bit too vividly.

^ I have nothing to add to what Yoshi said except that you should probably acquire a dynamic microphone with more power than the one you have, maybe a sound mixer so you can add music properly, and start doing a few story boards to help you organize yourself. This does have overtones of wing-it.

Thanksgiving special will be moved later since I will be going some where else for a vacation and that time will have to be on my birthday, November 28th.

I saw you had a highway texture and if you show any kind of custom content in the video, viewers will want to know what it is and where you got it. Maybe you should just include something in the description saying highway mod from Simtropolis.com or something pointing them in the right direction. I remember watching videos like this when I was new to sc4. I always had questions on where and how they did what they did.

I tried getting black asphalt, but instead, it came out as that, and I thought it was cool.
