Plugins Not Found?

OK let me start by saying i started my game up like any other time, loaded my city and i get a message following a black screen saying how im missing a bunch of plugins and a bunch of numbers and letters all jumbled up.

so i pretty much lost it all.

all my hard work

hours of detail

all gone

i searched my entire computer. look in my plugins folder their all still there. i dont know why it would say i dont have them its weird

anyways i tryed everything to fix it spent hours online looking for a cause or fix

nothing

i then realized there is nothing i can do so i deleted my entire sc4 game and all of my plugins

im super pissed because i feel like ive wasted all this time for nothing.

just curious if any of u guys had this problem and found a fix...

btw i had some really beautiful cities almost ready for cj, but the brown boxes came out of nowhere today so sorry guys...

So sorry to hear that Portlander,

...But deleting your game and plugins is the worst possible thing you could've done. That's like the ultimate ragequit. There may have been a chance for you to recover some of it; there are some super adept computer people here on simtropolis. Now that you have wiped your game you've kind of killed the point of this thread. Not only can no one help you fix it, but we can't even be sure what your problem was.

But to be honest man it sounds like you need a break from your computer for a while. Go outside and enjoy whatever weather you have wherever you live. Unless you live in the northeast U.S. and it's all flooded....then yeah I guess you couldn't enjoy much...

A re-install of the game likely would have solved the issue of SimCity 4 not seeing your plugins folder. Or, you could have dropped the plugins into the Program Files/SimCity 4/Plugins folder.

If neither solved the issue, as Indiana said, there are highly knowledgeable people here who could have helped.

It would have behooved you to bring your problems to us BEFORE you deleted all your plugins. Although, depending on the number of plugins you had...it may be worth using a program, such as Recuva, to restore what you can.

What a shame. We probably could have guided you out of this problem. Now we have no way of finding out what happened.

You clearly need to take some time to recover from your computer overload. Go for a walk, relax and listen to music, try taking ten deep breaths, and the next time this kind of thing happens count slowly to ten, shut your machine off, and go for a run.

HA i re-re-reinstalled sc4 and saved my cities on a flash drive and vola theres my city lol
