Nice, the area looks nice. The dilapidated look of the neighbourhood is a good start to your CJ, I'm looking forward to future updates.

    Cumberland: Bergenside

Welcome to Bergenside, a mixed use Industrial/Residential neighborhood in the City of Cumberland. Bergenside is located to the east of center city. Its borders are First Street and Mill Creek in the East, Newcastle Street in the North, Fifth Street in the West and E Cambia Street in the South. The Blocks in between are a gritty mix of factories, w2ws and walk-ups.

    What do You Guys Think?

It's that time of year, late summer air is filled with the smell of used textbooks and sholars prepare for the upcoming term.

Here's a look at Cumberland's own Torham University, where Students are just arriving from around the country.

    backtouni.png

Cheers! And good luck to students this next term.

    Cattaxqua

    Welcome Back!

Today we'll look at the Borough of Cattaxqua, located just East of the Cumberland City Limits across the Lehigh River.

Lets start at the Borough's exit on the Northern Lehigh Expressway, which also services the Borough of Whitehall to the north.

    expressway.jpg

We encounter the Midway Business District on the way to Cattaxqua. It is so called because of its location roughly halfway between Whitehall and Cattaxqua.

    And Cattaxqua Itself:

Cumberland - Lower West Side and South-West

Hello All! Today we will look at the Lower West Side and South-West Cumberland. Lower West Side is located directly West of Bloemfont and south of Torham University.

    lowerwestside.jpg

    shoppingdistrict.jpg

Cumberland BLVD carries most E/W traffic through and past Central Cumberland. To the West it becomes West Cumberland Expressway. Both exits take drivers to other shopping districts. The Trumpet leads north to Woodlawn. The partial interchange takes traffic south to South-West Cumberland, a City Annex.

    South-West Cumberland:

First of All, Thanks for the comments everyone!

    A Sunday Drive

    Hey Everyone!

Today we'll take a shore drive down M40, the main Motorway through the southern region of the Lehigh Valley, servicing Cumberland form the East and Southwest.

We'll start out from the East, headed westbound towards South Cumberland. Here, M40 winds its way over a ridge and down into the Lehigh Valley:

    m40r.jpg

Here is the Exit for South Cumberland. It is almost directly south of Center City, but since it is a small interchange, most traffic to the center is rerouted via Avenues and other motorways.

    exitho.jpg

If we took this exit, we would arrive at the Cumberland Rail Yards:

    mosaicf.jpg

FYI, this is my first EVER mosaic!

But we continue on, through South Side Cumberland, where M40 forms the southern border of the City:

    anoverpass.jpg

We Exit Here, an interchange that will take us through South-West Cumberland to the West Cumberland Expressway. Traffic Approaching from the Southwest to Center City is routed this way.

    Thanks everyone!

    Cumberland - Torham University

    Welcome back everybody!

Today we'll look at Torham University, the Area's premier university of the Fine Arts and Architecture, Law, and a bunch of other things :P.

The Main Quad is located on Market Street, West of Cumberland's center.

    mainquad.jpg

Wesmont Square is the official West Limit of the Cumberland Central Business District, and is where Cambria and Market Streets merge to form only Market Street.

    wesmont.jpg

Some Dormotories by the central pond on Vine Street, the Major Northwest Route into/out of the city.

    pondrl.jpg

The Fischer Academic Building containing Laboratories and Technological classrooms as well as traditional lecture halls and classrooms is the newest Addition to the University.

An Overview of Torham University from the South, Looking North.

And a peek at Woodlawn, the neighborhood to the West. Notice the northeast US traditional H block pattern of alleys.
