Adding Sound To Custom Query Window

Hello there, I'm new to the board and don't know my way around but I've been creating custom content for a few months now but I recently began adding custom query windows to my lots but I wanted to add sound to the customer query window. For example, when you click on SimGoober's Coca-Cola Building Lot, with the query tool, a .wav file plays with the Coca-Cola slogan sound.

I'm using ILive Reader to do all my custom query window lots. So I'm guessing you just simply insert a small .wav file to the lot, and generate a unique group and instance code to it, and then copy paste the codes to the query sound field, and update the exemplar but it seems too simple and I could be wrong.

Are there existing threads on this or a tutorial somewhere on Simtropolis on how to do this? If so, could someone point me in the right direction?

I remember asking this same question years ago. There was an tutorial in the omnibus but I cant't seem to find it now. Any way I did a bit of digging and found a reply to my very question way back in 2004...lol

    Custom query sound

That should work. In fact I think it was the article that became an omnibus entry.

    Hope that helps

PS I think you'll need to source the TRK file from somwhere. Hang on ....But..I seem to remember making a cutom query for this lot Fox @ Hounds so i'm guessing there could be a TRK file in there that you could modify. (Sorry I don't have Ilive's reader installed on this computer to look for you)

If I recall correctly, you can open an existing TRK file from another custom query and copy that file into your query. Then you can change the necessary properties and IDs...
