Pavement Marking Problems

I have a problem. For some reason, my avenues are showing white broken lines to mark the left side of each of the two antiparallel roadways. The pavement markings for roads appear to be correct.

Maybe you have a texture mod installed?

You have a texture mod installed if you want it to stop remove said mod.

I tried removing and replacing various files that I felt could be texture mods, but I did not see any improvement in my avenues.

Maybe you're confusing the curbs with lines?

Is It the Turn lanes you don't want? If you don't want them, reinstall the nam and uncheck avenue turn lanes.

Looks like you have the Euro Texture Mod in your plugins. Or maybe just this file (zzz1_NAM_Euro_Textures_Turning_Lanes_Avenues) since you say it's only the avenues that apper like that.

This is the best thing I can come up with. I definitely want to keep the turn lanes, and I haven't found any plugins with "Euro" in the name. The only thing this doesn't explain is why there aren't yellow lines around the yellow diagonal crosshatch markings.

This is another image of what it looks like:

This is what my roads look like:

EDIT: For clarification, the road intersections are the way I want them (even if they don't line up quite correctly).

I don't see anything incorrect. Maybe you could use a graphics editor to highlight (circle) the objectionable area?

Hmmm... Here's what the Euro Mod looks like:

    EuroMod.jpg

Looks very much like yours, unless you have something that uses the same textures. What mod are you using for the zebra-striped crosswalks? Also, did you check both plugin folders?

If nothing is found, you might try renaming your plugin folder. Then make a new one and move only the NAM into it and see what appears. Just a thought...

I might just be imagining things, but I thought that I remembered my avenue/avenue intersections looking something like the horizontal lanes in this image (plus the crosswalks):

I don't know if it will help identify the problem, but I have also noticed brown areas where I thought I had sidewalks:

You may be thinking of using the TuLEP pieces as shown here:

    EuroMod1.jpg

The lanes shown on the north, south, and east sides are the standard NAM turn lanes. To the west are the lanes using the TuLEP pieces.

That's definitely worth a try. I've been wanting to mess around with that. Thanks for the help, Capt.

You know, I just might have remembered something. Do you have the newest NAM (Version 29)? If I remember correctly, an earlier version may have had those cross-hatch sections before the left-turn lanes. I'll need to check to be sure, but that might be what it is.

Edit: I checked, and I think you might have the July 2009 version. The lanes did look like your pictures with that one. If that is the case you will need to get the newer version if you want the TuLEP pieces.

Although I do also have this mod.

    Have you tried removing that?

Yes. All removing that did was remove the diagonal crosshatch markings from my TuLEP transitions. If other people don't see anything particularly strange about it, I guess I'll just accept it for now.

(Perhaps until a version of the NAM includes a MUTCD pavement markings option :thumb:)

Yes, if you want the yellow lines, one option is to use the TuLEP pieces. You might also check out the Network Widening Mod. It has various avenue layouts that include the centerline markings that may be closer to what you are looking for. Just a thought...
