It has been quite noticeably slow for the last few days. What are we up to?

Funny, it is Wednesday, and the response time has been up to half an hour.

Response time has been good today. I checked out my end, and it was something to do with the ST end. I suspect server operator inattention to some console message needing a response.

The entire website has been very slow for the past 24hrs, using firefox version 13.0.1

Response today is on the order of three to five minutes. Sunday is the day when things should really be snappy.

Indeed, it has been very slow. Probably a problem somewhere, as there aren't more users than usual.

For me, Sunday is always the slowest day. The slowness generally begins around Friday evening, gets worse on Saturday, and is at its worst on Sunday. Today has been exceptionally slow, however.

The site also has been going down a fair amount today, where I don't get any ST error message just "Browser cannot find this page" errors.

I don't think that's a site down. I think it is just a time-out. I haven't had any of those, but I have had a time-out or two. The site is back to normal now, and I wonder if the big east coast storm with all the outages hasn't effected the pathing. We might have been talking all around the world, which would account for long delays. The TCP/IP protocol is set up to get things done no matter what.

My mistake. That would make sense. Sometimes it would come up after long periods of loading, sometimes right away. Anyways, back to normal this morning.

As for it being due to the storms, that's highly possible. We wouldn't have been the only ones. Netflix, Pinterest and others went down as well.

Like everyone else, it was also extremely slow for me yesterday. The storms sounds like a logical explanation.

Yesterday, loading was extremely slow. I did not bother. Usually, it takes 10-30 seconds for ST to load up for me and my Internet speed is 72MB/s.

Chat just refuses to work for me. The error reported is 'authentication failed'. I've deleted my entire cache and logged in/out and nothing happens. Any ideas?

Chat is not working for me. Getting the same error message as some users above. Tried using both the latest build of Firefox and IE10.

Chat never seems to work in the evenings (US time), yet it works fine during the day.

The same problem continues today. Now that it is past 6pm EST I can no longer get into chat, I just get a message saying authentication failed. I have tried multiple browsers and computers, all with the same result. I had no problems with chat earlier today.

It is Sunday and the general response time is disgusting. Up to five minutes to simply open a forum. I sometimes think that the servers run unattended on the weekend or that there are several severs doing different things and only one operator.

The chat is failing again for me.

And the site opens pretty badly when using Internet Explorer.

I use IE 9 and the site was really difficult to navigate and everything was out of place. It looked very messed up. The forums don't even show up when logged in.

I had to download Firefox to post again while the maintenance is done.

Something terrible happened to this site at 1130 EDT or thereabouts. The response time to load a page went to something like ten minutes or more. I tried restarting my browser and booting my machine. I am pretty sure it is not at this end.

It appears the outage was due to some changes/additions being made. Maxis employees now have a custom member label and there is a link to the official Simcity forums under the SC13 category.

Well, today the outage was about six hours. I have to assume it was an accident since going off the air on the weekend is rather uncouth.

Site is really slow right now (10:28 MST.) More than 1000 users online, almost 4 times as many guests as members. I haven't seen this many in a while.
