Bring Back Some Old Search Engines

I just noticed how hard it was to search for just commercial offices or residential BAT's on the STEX. Before March this year, we could search for just ciic or residential, etc. but now we can't. Only Lot, Map, BAT, or etc. So, even though the search engins are still pretty good, I wonder if Simtropolis could also let us search for different type of buildings, civic, industry, residential, commercial, park, etc. I don't know where I am supposed to put this suggestion though.

I agree with you 100%, it used to be a lot easier to search and find things on Simtropolis. Also the forum search engine is not very good. When I am looking for something I use Google, a search word + simtropolis and get better results than with the forum search engine.

Also, the site's search engine is missing the most important results sorting we need: by relevance

Finding files by date, size or alphabetic sorting is a big pain, especially when you are somewhat sure about what you're looking (say, you know what the file is about, but you don't remember the name correctly).

Currently the default in the search engine is "any reference" to the search phrase. It should be set initially to "titles only" then only if this fails, revert to the current state. For example, I recently had a reason to dig out the URL of the Landscape Designer. I got a page and a half of junk that referred to it, but the hit I wanted was half-way down the second page. Oh, well, garbage in, garbage out.
