If its Canada day, the Fourth of July....what are your plans this holiday weekend? Mine are as follows:

Tomorrows pre Fourth grill and party. A bit of small firework fountains and sparklers.

The big July 4th!

FIREWORKS ARSENAL:

500 Moon Travlers Bottle Rockets

100 Roman Candles (25 blue, 25 green, 25 red, 25 orange)

A small package of those little cylinders that you light and spin around...something, left overs from last year in a zip-loc bag.

20 sparklers

5000 Black Cat bombs (the famous little ones)

M80s fireworks (TNT) {we live in the suburbs but the people could care less}

Flashing Thunders

A whole stash of 500 gram mortars and shells form Alabama (These are being brought by our friends dad who ordered them)

Woah! Thats a lot, I was so excited to launch all these fireworks that I could not help but post! Happy July Fourth! :D

Be very careful. You don't want to wind up like Sir Humphrey Davy when he discovered Nitrogen Trichloride. Shook the test tube and blew off most of his hand.

We had a spectacular show last night at Parliament Hill in Ottawa.

Yes, I was very careful today with my fireworks display. We had a great time and kept the bottle rockets launching put of a PVC pipe.

I'll be looking forward to the fourth of July for an entirely different reason - I get my grades back for the semester that just ended. No fireworks though.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

We have nice fireworks on two locations yesterday night in Winnipeg. One was in the Forks, while the other one is in the Assiniboine Park.

(I'll have to cover my ears, I am a phobic to loud, sudden noises like explosions or fireworks)

Well, it's already the 4th here, so I'm waiting for marks.

    Also, merging threads.

We usually do a 4th of July family barbecue, but we aren't this year because we've got other stuff going on right now. So we had a sort of Memorial Day barbecue instead (actually the weekend before Memorial Day). Tomorrow... I have nothing planned. No fireworks, nothing. Just a day off from work which I shall use to loaf around.

I suppose I could have horned in on someone else's plans, but it's a bit late for that now.

I'm going to the lake with friends to watch fireworks this year. Bringing with me some ribeye steaks, shrooms to top the steak, lots of potato chips, and some Bacardi of course 2.gif.

No personal fireworks for me though. Wouldn't want to start a wildfire. Although, people usually sneak them in anyways, so I wouldn't be surprised if one of my friends doesn't bring some. I'm personally not very worried about the fire risk, considering all the rain we've had lately. 3.gif

You guys be careful with all the pyrotechnics, and use them in a safe place.

Astro: Hope your marks were OK.

July 4 is just Monday up here in the frozen north. We had our bash last Friday.

Let's see, Bastille Day is coming up in France, hien? Napoleon was a colonel in the French Army for the storming of the Bastille. His comment: "A little grape would disperse this rabble".

So, as it turns out, we'll be setting off a few fireworks after all. Went out today and bought about $40 worth.

We figured we had to because my cousin has never even seen fireworks before, let alone set any off himself... they're illegal in Italy. And because we want to give him a bit more of a genuine 4th of July experience.

We're barbecuing as well, though I'm not sure what.

You need a licence from the state government to buy any sort of fireworks that are launched or make an explosion here in Australia. There are still some great displays put on - Sydney's New Year's Eve fireworks are excellent, and Brisbane has Riverfire, which marks the beginning of Riverfestival. Officially, it is to celebrate the Brisbane River. More realistically, it is an excuse to have a party and watch some (30 minutes of) fireworks.

Yesterday was awesome, i set up about 40 racks PVC pipes in the ground to put shells in and set the whole thing off to "Sandstorm" by Darude.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrB3xDjDs5A

About 75% of the way though, I ran out of lighter fluid and my punk burned out and a friend thought it was a great idea to pull a flare out of my backpack and try to use it, but it was way to bright, i wasen't happy cause all i could see was black and red spots for awhile he nearly ruined it :meh:

He also used one of my smoke signals, if he read the label he would have know it was a carcinogen and it says not to inhale it :\

Anyways other then that it went good and after I got a standing ovation. :thumb:

I saw the fireworks from the park behind the school. The view was best suited for the bay but it had an OK view of the lake fireworks (the bay show was discontinued).
