Need some ideas and opinions

I was looking over some of my old stuff which wasn't deleted and I came across this. I'm thinking of turning it into a French Half - Rural City Journal. Of course these pictures are not final and I still find they are a bit too "maxisy". However, I'm thinking with more addition of custom content, planning and a bit of photoshopping I could turn this into a nice City Journal. I just need some opinions from you guys if you would like to see something like this. Hopefully, a fair amount of you remember me and my last City Journal. If not I will show you the link so you can make comparisons. Anyways, enough talking I'll show you a few pictures I came up with in a few minutes.

it does look good, but you should be patient and

do City journals relatively slowly.

Don't rush into a city journal.

I've made that mistake many times before; none of them

turned out to be good. They all sucked.

I say to work on it a little bit more and try

not to leave any blank areas.

Sure. Go ahead. And there's nothing wrong with Maxis... as long as it looks good. So don't worry about it being Maxis-y. I like a good bit of Maxis stuff myself.

I'd have to agree with Animaniacs...don't rush if you aren't 100% sure. I like the idea of creating a rural or a semi rural CJ. Everytime I see rural areas like that on your 2nd pic I suddenly get an urge to do something with the countryside in my region...but that takes a lot of time and hard work so I usually spend my playing time stareing at my semi developed region wondering what to do :D

On the other hand you should get more custom BATs but you should also use some maxis buildings, especially the small 1x2 or 1x1, 2x2 lots...any bigger than those just don't seem right for me.

Come visit my CJ!

Thanks for the opinions guys! I'm going to make some changes to my region right now. I've got some great content which I've downloaded and I'll see how I can go from there. And you're all right, I shouldn't start a CJ if I'm 100% sure I should do it. That happened to me in the past I have to admit the City Journals looked decent but they were ended way too soon. Anyways, I'm also thinking of taking advantage of the RHM and adding curved roads to add some more realism

Cheers! Will post more progress pictures later! :golly:
