There has been many a thread like this before. I have to agree with you. Here is what I think:

City Planner: Useless

Utilities: Helpful because he tells me when my power plants have reached the end of their lifespan

Safety: Useless until there is a fire

Health & Educatin: Helpful because she tells me when I need more funding.

Transportation: Helpful

Enviromental: stupid stupid stupid :rage::rage::rage::rage:

The advisors are sent to try you. They all have hidden agendas and need to be ignored. If it were possible, I would fire the lot, but since i am the local god, I just ignore them.

I agree, but the true question is: do you need advisers anyway? For example, to solve transportation-problems I always use the pop-up window which shows the quantity of traffic and traffic-jams on the road, that's much more detailed than the fact that an advisor says there is a problem on a certain road.

I think the advisor for the utilities, safety and health & education are sometimes useful, but most of the time they're useless.

By the way, the environmental advisor is that annoying, I would be banned if I give my true opinion. :lol: Once she closed down my water-supply because there was to much pollution, nowadays I make sure that doesn't happen again. :lol:

The advisors are only there to help people who are first playing the game, or when you are making a huge metropolis and have trouble keeping track of everything going on. By the way, is it spelled advisors or advisers? I thought it was with an o but Chrome's spell check seems to think otherwise.

I think you'll find that advisor is a position and what they do is act as advisers. Both are correct, so I think you can update Chrome.
