How to save the city tile image?

In order to documentthe city building progress, I would like to save the city tile image that is displayed when a certain city tile is loading (right after selecting a tile in the region view and clicking "play":

I tried sawtooth's region census, but when saving the tile image an error occurs and I get only empty files.

So is there another way of saving this images?

If your method fails, you can always hit the Print Screen key (don't know its name on German keyboards), exit the game, open MS Paint and stick your pic there...

Ah, yes, tried that also .. funny thing is, sometimes when I hit the PrntScr key during the city loads, the system captures a image of the city after it has been loaded (an ingame screenshot) ...

I suppose this has to do with the workload of my PC when loading the city. Must be maxed out, so the "Capture Screenshot" command is executed right after the city has been loaded.

You can check the save file in iLive's Reader. There should be PNG files inside the save-file, containing the region view image, as well as the transportation view image.

You could also try a seperate screen capturing software that doesn't depend on the game's own processes and thus won't wait until the map is loaded, only for you to get a screen you don't want.

Such a software needs to be able to capture from the DirectDraw surface though.
