Topic says it all. I just wanna know how many sims I can pack into 1 city space within a region. Just curious how many sims can fit into 1 city's worth of physical space. Thanks!

LOL I am a lame $%&^!...my biggest in this version has been about 20k.

I was proud of my metropolis in the original version though...and I hope to learn this one better now.

Well I believe I once had a city with almost a million people. Unfortunately it got hit with the prop pox and could not be recovered >:(

I think the largest I've ever built was around 700,000 sims, but that was after a serious bug caused the mayor rating to plummet and everything became low wealth. The largest normal city I've built was 400,000 or so.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

-Steen Eiler Rasmussen, 1898-1990 (SimCity 2000 User Manual).

So far my biggest is about 380,000. Not very good when you look at people with million-plus populated cities, but still a start. :D

My original city of Ohwhatawetness eventually had over 2 million, but that was with the vanilla game. I've never come close to that since. I suspect that after I found Simtropolis, there was so much more to fool with that I stopped being concerned abut population.

My current region, Better Harbour has a pop. of 1.77 Million and Inner Harbour, the largest city has 678,333 Sims. I've been playing this region for a couple of months, off and on.

It has been a long time since I considered large population a goal. I go for nice, and profitable. the Inner Harbour treasury is around 37 Billion Simoleons, and the operating budget is around 100,000K per month. The large tile is about fifty per cent occupied, but about a third of it is water.

My largest city ever was about 430000 people on a medium tile. Right now, in the UC, the largest city is Capital District(165000).

I followed Rochefort's methodology and was able to hit 1,055,052 in one city.

4.1 million with 2.2 million commercial jobs and 650k industrial ones. I believe if you went for purely residential on a flat empty large city tile you could achieve about 8 million. If you have CAM you can get considerably more than that as well. Most I've had on a medium tile is 1.5 million and most on a small tile is 650k.

I didn't use money cheats, I used industry quadrupler, NAM using the ultra traffic simulator and lots of BAT's, though nothing ridiculous. Few larger hospitals with larger cost, that kind of thing.

With all due respect, your using CAM, which skyrockets your demand and lets you have buildings with 10k+ sims. The most sims mine have are 8000, the maxis 4x4 low wealth ones, and I don't have many of those. Oh and mine is real as well. Heres your proof.

By unplug you mean no mods correct? My first city was done with no mods and I managed 2.2million for that on a map with mountains/rivers. I don't feel like doing it again though, at least not now. I have exams.

I am currently only using Money Tree and NAM for mods... are you saying I can still get over 2 mil sims in 1 city even with no other mods installed? 46.gif

I got 1.6 on a mainly water large tile. Had to do a lot of land reclamation.

On a large tile, yes. Forget the money tree, it takes up space. Install the extra cheats .dll instead and use the moolah command to start your city with 2,000,000 Simoleons. You probably won't need more before it goes profitable, then when the treasury goes over that amount, take it back.

1.6 on a large map. Wasn't really going for the huge population, though - Much of it is parkland and civic buildings.
