I've downloaded the Cycledogg trees, but it's annoying put tree by tree in terrain, can I change the standard God Mode tree brush to plant the custom tree?

It's definitely possible, if you download his terrain mods and trees you should be lead over to the 'tree controller' which replaces the Maxis tree 'brush' with his own trees...just be careful to read the instructions because you can't have every single tree controller in your Plugins at once. I prefer the assorted tree controller because it adds the most variety, with the trees changing a bit depending on grade and elevation, but it is entirely up to you what you wish to create. In an case..

So this doesn't create the same thing as in God Mode where you have the green circle and are able to cover the entire map if need be it just allows me to hold down on the mouse and "brush" around an area? I'm just not seeing that option when using this tool, but it's still effective. Just want to insure I installed the file correctly.

Make sure you only select one tree controller and you put it in your plugins folder. Cycledogg's mod is for the God Mode trees so you won't plant trees with a brush tool, it'll be the green circle that is displayed when you mass-plant the trees in God mode, like you said. Make sure you also install any of the dependencies that are with the Cycledog mod as well (I'm sure there are some there, you need the actual models for the trees to show in game).

The read me says to have both CPT8and9 in my plugin folder just in separate folders? It also states I need one of the following downloads but I can't find them on here or the LEX @ devotion? Here is the read me direction. Any suggestions on where I can find one of the additional tree models?

Installation

Extract the following files to "\My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins". It is wise to create a new folder for each download to avoid confusion.

  • CPT_No8_TreeModelsPartOne.dat (tree models part 1)
  • CPT_No9_TreeModelsPartTwo.dat (tree models part 2)
You also need to install one of the follwing files (only one, not more!):

  • CPT_No7_TreeController_DefaultMaxis_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (default Maxis trees)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_Generic_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (mixture of all included trees)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_Generic_Andreas.dat (selection of various conifers)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_DouglasFir_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (Douglas Firs)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_LodgepolePine_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (Lodgepole Pines)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_Burnt_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (burnt Lodgepole Pines)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_Aspen_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (Aspen)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_Ponderosa_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (Ponderosa Pines)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_SubalpineFir_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (Subalpine Firs)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_ShorePine_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (Shore Pines)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_Redwood_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (Redwood trees)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_Larch_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (Western Larches)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_PinyonJuniper_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (Pinyon Pines)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_Cottonwood_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (Cottonwood)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_WesternRedcedar_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (Western Redcedars)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_Elm_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (Elm trees)
  • CPT_No7_TreeController_Juniper_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat (Junipers)

i have a question whats the best way to portray a nature park? i noticed there are now many terrains for the US state of alaska many of which feature land that has natural parks. when designating the land as open park green it becomes impossible for large game wild life to migrate into the tiles that been designated park plus the trees in the park tiles have to be re-planted and also the park tiles incure a cost called city beutification to keep them looking nice if the beutification for the parks is turned off they revert to look more natural but still no large wild life living there. if you put trees there. but if you just have tiles with trees and not designated park then wild life can migrate into the terrain. so my only solution is to just not designate the natural parks as parks and leave them alone. is it more realistic to just have wildlife santuary type parks not zoned as park or what? the alaskan city ill be trying to build later is called Kenai. any imput on this subject is apreciated.

sincerly from,

jonathan
