All of my mods have been moved to the XLEX on xlnation.net

List of my experiments include (from newest to oldest)

1. Parking Pack mod (allows placing parking spaces and plopping cars in them)

2. Alimar City Map

3. The Getaway Island Map

4. Venice Map

5. Highways allow intersections

6. Highway interchange collision box reduction

Mods I have made but are currently unavailable unless requested:

1. Suburban neighborhood housing (A mod that reduces dimensions of a few houses so you can build them much closer together)

2. The Interior Lake Map

3. Warehouse unlocker

The intersection mod is a nice and simple idea! 2.gif

Just a question: did you overwrite existing files for the houses or did you create new files?

Because they might cause compatibility issues...

Congratz on the highway mods. It is a great one. Actually if you manage to solve the all set up intersections this one will be a suberb one! But it's still great!

    The first two downloads (the red roof house and the white roof house) are completely separate and will appear as new houses. The next two downloads will modify the dimensions of the two houses seen in the picture above which are already in the game.

    I have found by using this mod plus a lamp mod. I can place different lampost at intersections.

    See in photo. It's kinda a pain to place in median sometimes.
    Mabe someone could mod this in without individual placements!

    What exactly do you mean free zone? For example, after you download my mods and you place a grid of unskilled low density houses, my houses will appear at random just like any other house. If you want them placed closely together, you have to do them individually. Does this answer your question?

    Ok but my question is like this;

    If the dimensions on the houses are smaller, could yo use them in free zone so you would have more lots and people?

    Or... do you have to do indivisual placement?

    Unfortunately, you have to place them individually. The models are actually still the same size but the game thinks they are taking up less space so you can overlap the yards which allows them to be closer together.

    Please help me hyperwolf.

    I can't make the smaller houses to work. This is the first mod i am trying to install, and i don't know what to expect.

    Will appear two new houses on that tab called Paks??

    Or I will have to try my luck placing unskilled houses until I find that smaller ones?

    Hyperwolf...I am anxious to try these in-game because they are well thought-out mods adding more realism...something I think we are all looking for....gonna spend a couple hours "building some new neighborhoods" similar to those I grew up near...and I can't wait to add the highway intersection mod because of the "dead space" around all of the interchanges....

    Thanks for the updates...now where's the "ratings stars" ????

    @tia_gorm - first install the mod into the "paks" folder. Then when you are building your city go to options and activate the option the place buildings manually. Then open up the unskilled workers low density and you will see the new houses there. Here are some visual instructions:

    Instructions

    1. Your highway system must be completely finished with all intersections built before you install this mod. Once this mod is installed you can not build any more intersections. If you would like to build more intersections after the mod is installed you have to bulldoze all buildings that are within the original dimensions of the intersections, then remove the mod from the paks folder.

    2. This mod currently supports american roads only.

    3. Highway Intersection Mod Download 4. If you would like the intersection without roundabouts, download this mod (this is an add-on, you will still have the option of the intersection with roundabouts): Download

    I like the intersections without roundabouts, does it work without crashing the game? Can i install the non roundabout mod and place more intersections? Or is the restriction with both mods?

    you can download the intersection without roundabouts and place them freely. It is the other mod that modifies all the dimensions. Let me know if you have any troubles

    Well im not using "american roads" but default roads... So no luck I guess.

    Im still looking to use highways but I just replanned and redraw, as highway intersections are so bugged, I changed my highways to expressways, but I saved my highway links of course, but now as the highway goes further into the city, it changes to expressway before any intersection.

    Too bad that the highway intersections are so horrid! Highway intersections should be able to connect all 3, highways, expressways and large avenues.

    The smaller the better!

    Could you make the hidden intersection unlocker mod for default roads as well? How do I open a .patch file?

    Yes I could make it but latel[e been spending all of my free time building a city rather than making mods. If I get time I will make it for you. Yes I agree the highway system in CXL needs a serious makeover. Now if you wanted to change simple things on your own it is fairly simple. In order to open a patch file you need to unpack it. There are a handful of tools that will do this for you. My favorite is PakUnPak by Arcadoli which you can download here.

    I for one drool (heh) for the non roundabout highway intersection for default roads :)

    Im not gonna install netfx 4.0 so for now I have to count myself out from modding. But glad to use and test them!

    Can you make a mod that unlocke the road interchange with roundabout and the road interchange without roundabout for the new patch?

Let me know if my current mod for the intersection without roundabouts works with the patch and if it does than I will try to make a mod for the intersection with roundabouts.
