No, there are no rumors about this.

Focus is not interested in developing a new CXL, I think they'll simply release patches and support this game.

Anything else is fake imo.

This has been done through mods, can you find it yourself or do you need your hands held and given links?

Building diversity will be increased by Focus and I heard a rumor of a Building Customization Editor. There are mods that change the worker tokens produced by residential buildings. I might make one that makes it so that each building produces 1 worker per family comfortably housed.
