Rio de Janeiro map from STEX renders with holes

I've got 64 bit Vista.

I tried downloading the Rio de Janeiro map from the STEX and rendering it.

It renders the large cities with these horizontal shaped holes on the side of the city, as if the rendering didn't go all the way.

I have tried the usual fixes:  I disabled my screen saver and all the background tasks I could think of; I set screen resolution to 800 x 600.  Nothing works.  Can't get rid of those holes in the large cities.

Any other suggestions?

Can you provide a screen shot of what you mean by holes?

Did you change the screen resolution or the game resolution. If you just changed your screen resolution, try changing the game resolution to something below 1600x1200, then enter and re-save the cities.

look, i tried to make a map of Rio de Janeiro using satelite data, and i got the same holes near the coast. But i already downloaded a region of Rio from stex, but i didnt get those holes.
