The iPad version IS THE ABSOLUTELY ONLY SIMCITY GAME CALLED SIMCITY DELUXE WITHOUT A NUMBER! What you posted pictures was SimCity 4 with Rush Hour and custom content.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

I own SimCity 4, SimCity 4 + Rushhour and SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition, those pictures were taken using the last one.

The only other thing I would say is if you are going to do a comparison between two city building games you should have done like to like ie PC Game to another PC Game not picked something done for a IPad and said this is the difference between Cities XL and SimCity, unless of course the IPad version is better, in which case I apologise for thinking it wasn't.

The iPad version is vastly inferior but when my grammar nazi side comes out, I point out the flaws of someone's post by showing examples of what they talk about using exact words where what they say is not the same as what they mean.

You all should be aware that Cities XL is getting better by the day.... while SC4, Deluxe, normal or whatever, with 500000 mods, is staying the same as always..... old and at this point quite ugly. Check out all the new CXL stuff at xlnation.net.

That's all nice and everything, but why don't you take a gander at this?

I belonged to the original Monte Cristo Cities XL forums (before they deleted them) took part in the Beta and when it was released paid the monthly charges that Monte Cristo wanted to run the world servers before they went out of business.

Will I try the new version ... maybe one day but Monte Cristo did pretty pictures as well and it was a soulless plop-a-lot game.

These pictures were taken by users. Cities XL 2011 added several new mass zoning options and I rarely plop anything down nowadays.

OK, I've been playing around with Cities in Motion (see link in signature), when I take a break from that I'll download the new Cities XL version from GamersGate and give it a try.
