Traffic Bugs

I am just curious to see if anyone else seems to have this bug where traffic will come to a complete stop on highway onramps.  It doesnt matter if its freeway cloverfleaf interchanges or the large avenue t-junction, the traffic density map shows traffic flowing freely on and off the highways, but I have noticed that traffic in some spots simply just back up.  Is there anyway I can fix this?

one thing I've noticed in cxl 2011 is you cannot build small tunnels under the freeways like you could in 2009

This is a purely visual bug, like the traffic going one lane at a time on traffic lights, or the cars stopping at a highway interchange piece. Thank God the traffic engine works well, despite the graphic bug!

    I agree it's annoying, though.

Well, everything is fixable. I'm not much of a programmer, but I imagine they have to make the graphic engine understand that:

    1. The highway intersection pieces are not separate from the highway system, and should not introduce stop points. The same for the roundabouts, by the way.

    2. All traffic lanes in a given direction should move at the same time.

Now, how difficult this task is, I don't know. Also, we don't know where in their list of priorities it is. I imagine it's towards the bottom, with all the other more important stuff that needs fixing.

It's purely a graphical mistake. The traffic engine itself works flawlessly, but the automata animations were created incorrectly.

The vehicles you see on roads are random and independent of the actual traffic simulation/calculation.

"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

No offence, dude, but the answer is obvious, isn't it? Whoever made the game should fix it.

And don't think that others before you haven't noticed the bugs and communicated them to the developers. We've barked up that tree since the release of CXL 2009, without results as of yet. This might mean that:

    - The problem is not so easy to fix

    - They think there are other, more important things to fix first, or

    - They don't care.

At any rate, the current developer Focus Home knows about the graphic bugs related to traffic. And until they decide to take action, there's nothing to do but ignore the bugs. After all, they don't affect the actual traffic simulation.

Yes, it is a pity that there is such a blunder in the design. Just not a pretty sight overcame that cars stop at the interchange or the turntable.

But it may nevertheless this bug corrected.

It's just a visual thing (I might be wrong but I thought it worked properly in CXL 2009 though).

However I did have a separate issue where traffic actually would not pass through an expressway-highway conversion piece. This was when the expressway and highway were already in place and I added the bit in-between last. I rebuilt that section and then it was fine, just use the traffic map if not sure (might take a while to show up though).

I have a traffic problem where i cant see any cars or pedestrians at all. the flow shows up on the overlays, but i can't see the actual vehicles.

i run it on the low graphics setting, but i have put it on high and i still cant see anyone, my cities are empty!

does anyone know anything about this????

The appearance of cars and pedestrians is dependent on the quality of the players' graphics card and settings.
