hey skimbo,

just a little idea for the people who don't like the fact there are just metro trains in CXL11, what about creating something like this;

small metro - replace with a metro skin

long metro - replace with a normal sized passenger intercity train

double deck metro - replace the metro with a double deck intercity passenger train.

now people can decide whether they like subway or passenger trains driving through (or between) their villages!

The problem with that, W0LF, is that the modders only have access to two sets of meshes and can only use one skin per mesh. Unless it is possible to make either Paris Metro look like trains while keeping American Metro looking like subways or vice versa, your dilemma is currently impossible to fix.

that, indeed, is a problem. since I just read quite some requests on this forum, lets make one for myself then:

can you replace the double decker metro train with a dutch NS train? I've added a description to every one, so if you'd like more photo's, just copy the dutch words in google pictures. Just pick the one you like the most to mod:

the so called 'hondekop', translated as doghead, is the most common intercity short distances train (stops at every station, no idea how you guys call that)

this is the replacement for the hondekop, quite a few are driving around now, now idea what it's called.

and here we have two versions of the mass transport intercity trains double-deckers, the first one is an old model, the second quite new. The first one's probably the most easy to create. (these trains are fast trains, translated, they just stop at big stations, dutch name: dubbeldekker trein, or double-decked train)

and finally the so called ,,koploper", or headrunner. Koploper also means in Dutch the leading party, so they mention the koploper is the best train available. Just stops at big stations.

Most of the times, NS combines two trains, so the metro doubledecker would be quite nice.

If this is too much work for you, isn't it just possible to change the doubledecker train with a train from the CXL09 ploppable trains mod? Think it will be the easyest way to make intercity passenger trains drive through our cities.

The NS trains would look great with the Rotterdam metro, by the way.

I would say they were the same length as the ingame trains, so you shouldn't have any problems with it.

Also can you color the mini bus into this scheme.

I think it would be nice to have a 'dubbeldekker' as a large metro

The second version Wolf posted is currently the most used, so I'd really like to see that one. Example

For a utrecht GVU skins pack, i think it should be possible to create a minibus like this and a normal bus like this one (the back).

Double busses are like this, so i think it is'nt possible to create one of those for the double busses in cities, but if you can it'd be really nice

@Ilikeseattle: No, we've got acess to a bit more (to all MC and FHI models out of CXL2009 and CXL2011)

And 2 of them may work as a better Doubledecker or as a intercity train, see below at the multitractions.

@Wolf: Again   First: Forget Hondekop for the moment, it's sadly not possible, the hondekop replacement is more or less possible, see at the pics below.

The Koploper is something to forget again. I actually changed the models from the cxl'09 trainmod to theese two below.

@noursername: It could take me some time until I finish the other requests in here.

@Mattijzzz: The large metro actually is a double decker. Bouble buses ain't possible.

That's the result of combineing 4 MC doubledeckers to a "better" big metro train. Sadly the wagons are too whide for the tracks and it only looks good at straight peaches or slight  curves.

Nice work! Have you ever considered a NYC-MTA pack?  The only difference would be that the MTA has no minibuses or double deckers.

Hi - love your work, I have a question - I downloaded the Atlanta MARTA mass transit pack

my buses appear, but I'm not able to find the tracks to lay out my trains. I downloaded the file into my paks folder,

but when I get into the game - the tracks don't seem tp appear in the road menu. Am I missing a file or something

Tracks for rail are automatically placed when you build metro stations.

I would like to request (if you are currently taking requests) a King County/Sound Transit color scheme.

You need not change the windows, I like the non-reflective versions Monte Cristo/Focus used.

For the buses, use Yellow and Blue, Yellow and Green, or Yellow and Aqua scheme. I am fine if they barely look like the real thing because I know they use different shapes/meshes.

This is green and yellow. This might do as a double decker.

This is aqua/teal and yellow. This could be made into the minibus.

This one is violet blue and yellow. I would prefer this to be the standard bus.

For metro, I would like the Sound Transit color scheme but their trains look very different.

This is their metro (light rail) color scheme.

This is their commuter train color scheme.

My actual projects are some doubledecker skins, I've already finished 2 and got some others outstanding (some requested ones, some new ones)

Austrian State railway (Österreichische Bundesbahnen) (ÖBB)

German Railway (Deutsche Bahn) (DB)

All compartible with each other. The (already released) SNCF skin, the ÖBB skin at the bridge and the DB skin to the left.
