I want to buy that game so bad!

Ok. I don't want to buy a downloaded version of the game. I want to buy a hard copy of it, either in stores or on the Internet. I looked everywhere, there are no retailers downtown Toronto that will sell the game. I even looked online, I can't even order a copy of the game to have it delivered at home.

Is there something I'm missing? Can anyone help me finding a place in Toronto or a website where I can order a hard copy of the game?

Thanks!

I'd just say screw it and get the digital version from Metaboli. From what I hear, you probably won't find a hard copy anywhere in the Americas, anyways.

Really huh? Dang..... I found an old version of CitiesXL 2009 at BestBuy, and an employee told me it took them months last year to get those. Do you think hard copies will eventually get ship to the Americas ? I'm even ready to buy a copy from Europe that I can have delivered , Im ready to pay whatever cost. Also, when you go on the CitiesXL website, they show you a picture of the box set. I can't even order a hard copy from Focus directly on their web site. This is weird. I hope a Focus employee or representative reads this.

Digital transfer ? Hated it last year when i did it with first version of Cities XL. But I guess I'll have to go through all the steps again. It's really a shame I can't find a copy. I'll go on eBay to find a European customer selling his copy... but again, will it work as a used game? I'd have to hire a European to buy the game for me in stores, and to ship it to me. Whatever the cost. lol .....

Don't buy the game through Steam, buy it through Metaboli. The Steam version has lagging problems in the interface that the other version do not have.

Id Listen to these guys. I live in London 2 hours south of Toronto. I have never seen a single copy of Cities XL in this city. The download is easier anyways.

Do you think If I buy that old version of Cities XL that is available at BestBuy downtown Toronto, at 34.99$, once I install the old version, I will be able to update it automatically with the 2011 features, and pay the update with a credit card? Is that gonna work?

why would anyone not want to download it?

the 2009 and 2011 games are mutually exclusive.  2011 is not an "upgrade patch" to 2009.

I just bought CitiesXL 2009 (which has Focus & Monte Cristo names on it). I'm ready to install it. Then, if I buy the 2011 version, I've been told that it will just add new files to all existing folders, that I don't need to uninstall and re-install again. It ain't an upgrade patch I agree, but once I buy the 2011 version, it will be much easier to install having CitiesXL 09 already installed.

Well, I think you are right bowserchomp.

I paid 34.99$ + 5$ tax for the 09 version this afternoon, then I went on the CitiesXL website and I bought the reduced price version with the key I just got for the 09 version. I paid 19.99$USD no tax and I just got the whole thing installed. For a moment today, I really thought I needed the keys of the past email I got when I did the digital transfer for the 09 version (my emails were deleted, I had no key at all, that's why I was looking for the game so badly).

I should have just bought the version online, but I wouldn't have had a discount. But I still overpaid by 30$... oh well, at least I got the everything I needed for me to play this incredible game. I'm so glad that we can play between our own cities, without the planet offer. And hopefully, we'll get updates once in a while to improve the little details that everybody is asking for.
