I have some problems with the very slow gameplay. I have the patch for SC4 deluxe. I have tried to reduce resolution, shadows etc. and the hardware/software option, but still when I have built road on 1/2 the map the game slows down A LOT. Ex. an avenue from 1 side of the map to the other side takes more than 55 seconds before I can build anything else. I also have tried to increase physical memory. HELP me........................

    Thanks

Keep in mind that it may not be the games fault, you might just be letting whatever happens to your computer, happen. Try defraging your disks as well as running Disk Cleanup to get rid of the TEMP file junk the game leaves behind.

Long avenues without crossing roadways can cause problems due to zone flipping.. be sure you have intersections every 10 tiles or so

The specs of your computer are compatible to minimum system requeriments? My gameplay was slow as snail, then I upgraded the RAM and it helped.

To provide a firm opinion on your problem we need some more data.  Please tell us:

    1. Your machine configuration:
      1. CPU - Number of them, speed, maker
      2. GPU - Memory on board, maker, settings for options
      3. RAM - size in GB
      4. Virtual Memory (swap file), size in GB
    2. Which version of SimCity you are running.  To find this, navigate to Program Files/Maxis/SimCity 4/Apps and right click on the SimCity.exe file.  Get the property window, and see what version your have.  The build level should be 640 if you have all the official fixes.
    3. The size of your plugins and whether you have condensed them to one or more .dat files
When you ask a technical question like yours, we always need this, and most people don't provide it.  There is a sticky at the head of this list that everyone should read.

If you don't know how to provide these answers, consult your local digi-geek.
