I just set up a new Computer with a SSD Drive. How do I change the Path Files so nothing is used from that? Right now when I run it I get all the files copyed to my /user/My Documents/SimCity 4 on my SSD.

I have an SSD, and cannot believe the difference it has made for SC4. I have 2GB+ and 4000+ files in my plugins folder, and load times are at least 5 times faster with a SSD.

I run most other Games from mine but just didnt want to use the space for SimCity. My 2nd drive is a 2tb Sata III and runs close. Unless Im playing something aganist other players I dont mind being a bit slower. Im also running a I7 950 at 4gz and fast memory.

Uninstall it from your SSD and reinstall to your hard disk.

I don't know, but I think that would work, if you mean keeping the SC4 folder in My Docs out of the SSD.

If you have your entire My Docs folder on your SSD that is not good.. it is filled with all kinds of crap most of which won't benefit from an SSD anyways. If you want your my doc's folder off the SSD you will have to move the whole thing. Just go to the My Docs folder with explorer, right click it, properties, and MOVE it. Once you do this and reboot ALL the mydocs folder will be whereever you move it. You should not have to do anything else as the My Docs location is a system variable and when you move it by the proper process all PROPER references to it will also move.

And after you do that, I suggest you make sure your swap file (virtual memory space) is on your SSD.  If you start paging anything you want the page file to be on the fastest available device.

It is installed on my other Drive. The problem is when it creates a Folder under /user/name/my document/simcity4/ and moves all the regions and creates a HTTPCache amd plugins folder and even moves all the Default regions that come with it to that place. Because Windows is instaled on my SSD it goes there. If you delete that folder and start Simcity it creates it again and moves everything there again. The Path has to be set in a startup file or registry some were.

As I stated, it is not the install directory that is the issue, it is the "My Documents" folder... do as I stated above and move it (not copy it, not create a folder.. MOVE it using the system properties move process)
