There are viruses for MAC but not as much. Since there are fewer mac useres they make fewer virueses. They are still there though and from experience they can be bad. We lost mutiple computers in one of our univerity mac labs to a virus once. I think it got to the point where they had to re-install the OS.

I have to choose other on all three( I accidentally chose Bing on the search engine).

I use Google Chrome, IE8 and FireFox all three for different things.

I use Yahoo, Google and IXQuick Metasearch <- everyone should give that one a go round ;-)

I use Horde mail, as it's one of our corporate mail utilities, also Lycos mail, Yahoo mail, Google mail, Hotmail and Horizon mail.

Build 3.6.9 for FF just came out. Make sure you get it. Should come up as an update when you launch FF.

I mainly use Chrome, though I do not understand why the STEX descriptions do not open in a normal STEX window like they do with Firefox, in Chrome they always want to open in the same tab

Could always be your settings. My Firefox is set to open links that are supposed to open in a new window in a new tab instead.

Here is my current browser opened on my home page (igoogle).  This gives me what I need, and I am not into fancy plugins because I don't use this much, and don't need any "conveniences".  I just get the news of the day, as selected.  If I need more news, I am a member of canada.com.

I use Thunderbird because I like Mozilla products, and it provides me with my needs.  I especially like the ease with which mail can be filed in any number of categories and that the mail can be color coded for urgency and other things.  I am adding a screen shot of my archive folder in T-bird to show the color coding.

I've been forced to use Intranet Explorer this past few weeks. However next Friday my aunt will let me borrow her laptop, since she has 2. Then I can go back to FF.

Forced, eh? Firefox doesn't require any registry edits, so you shouldn't need admin privileges to install it. Power user will do. Although, if you don't even have that...

Well, I was able to install Firefox on my computer at work and run it with no trouble, at least. 1.gif

Back to Firefox. I simply use Google as my hompeage. No iGoogle or anything.

    googlem.jpg

I set my picture on Google to the Rocky Mountains, where I lived when I was 2, before we moved to TX.

I blurred my email adress, I wouldn't want some slimy marketing guy sending me a bunch of junk.

    Firefox Portable

Install it to a USB drive or memory stick and you can take FF anywhere.

An update to the browsers I use:

    FF for just about everything

Chrome for my router settings and as a backup browser

FF IE Chrome Safari & Opera for web development

And FF now has ABP as I can't stand background ads26.gif

I recently reinstalled Firefox, and then changed my homepage to IGoogle. I don't need anything but the weather and date and time.

    Image hosted by servimg.com

Click the thumbnail to see it.

The new animation on the side of this site got annoying, (the ad for Cities XL) so now FF has ABP and I blocked it. I don't know if they still have it or not.

I tried Chrome one last time. Feels faster, but still not convinced to use it as my default browser.

    Thus, I am still Firefox.
