how to use maps on a mac?

 how do i use custom simcity maps on mac. what button do i press to make the browse box pop up. 

can someone pls give me some step by step instructions

To activate the cheat box, you use Control, Option, Shift, X. Then you should be able to select the file, by entering the path. I did it at one time, but haven't tried in a long time.

It might actually be control, option, shift and R. Then select the file. So long as it is a greyscale region, and you have the config.bmp file, if it came with one, in the same folder as the region that you are rendering it in.

I got it working, guys thanks alot, turns out its the same as windows. Having trouble with the config.bmp but i now have a beautiful region.

Sorry for asking such a basic question here, but this isn't working for me. I get the dialog box, and I navigate to the folder that I set up in SimCity 4 Deluxe > SimCity 4 Data > Regions, and I select my JPG (which is greyscale), and it does have config.bmp, but then nothing happens at all. What am I missing?

There are two regions folders, and one of them is a dummy folder. Are you sure you put your map in the correct one? If I remember correctly, it should be in the one in the documents folder, i believe.

Yeah, try what Zel suggested, try the folder in the "Documents" Folder. That might fix it. Otherwise, just check again and make sure that the image is greyscale and not just greys.

Wow, you're fast! I found the "Getting Started on STEX for Mac Users" omnibus a few minutes after posting (RTFM, right?) and now I'm all set. You were right; I had put the maps in the wrong folder. They work great now. Thanks!
