Is the terrain generator from the official site accurate and worth using?

i have never used the terrain generator because i never got it to work... good luck if you are trying it (and if you get it to work let me know how you did it)

I gave up on it years ago.  There are a couple of generators on the STEX, but they generate random mapsl.

You have to have Java to run it. But the piece of junk is still down and I cannot save any of the files. I just use the Landscape Designer Generator.

    well yesterday I downloaded where downtown chicago is...if I have time I'l try using it tomorow...just too bad they never made one that generates an entire region

    Also too bad that a "city" is such a small area. Even a large city only holds a quarter mile.

    What the? That is crazy! That should be the size of the small city tile or if you are lucky medium!!!

    well anyways...I tried using the map but didnt work...when I tried to import the city its name was 'new city' instead of 'chicago' which I had set and obviously didnt load the map...

    Don't rename it once you save it. (city from the generator) Stick it in downloads folder and don't rename it. Then try importing it.

    I too tried it 5 years ago and could never get it to work. Waste of time. But if someone gets it to work, please let us know how on earth you did it.
