I looked around the site for a bit to try and resolve why when I import maps the screen looks like it is in 8 colors.

It stays like this till I open every section and then save when it then turns into the normal looking map.

    Is this normal?

If not where in this site can I go to resolve this issue.

If you are using SC4Mapper or SC4Terraformer, yes it is normal (and I might stated in the documentation)... The region is made up of renders which are made in the city view, not in the region view. Therefore when you make it in mapper (rather than in the "render mode" of the games rather poor "map generator" that is just the way it is.
