Is Simmars a Marsian Version of SC?

I know the UI is red, ground red, buildings look like something from a fantasy movie like Star Wars. Sorta reminded me of Mars, (well, doh!) Could someone please tell me more about Simmars? And if it is on "Mars"? Cause I have suddenly taken interest to it.

From what I see from that amazing project that basically it is a Martian SimCity. Of course, your colonies don't have to be on the red planet Mars Specifically of course. "It's all in the mind ya know"...

Pretty much SC4 but instead of earthly cities there are extraterrestrial cities.

Does the entire thing come in one giant mod or do you have to piece it together with tons of different mods?

If you are going to try out SimMars, it is indeed a set of modds.  You should plan an using a completely separate environment for it..

It is currently in development. It even has it's own section in the forum (under the sim city 4 builders section). I believe that there is a beta out at the moment, but currently it is quite limited in terms of content (i think :-P).

I also like the "Basic House Unit" I also went ahead and got some of the custom buildings. That made it better. Then again if I want to go to earth again I can move my original stuff back into the plugins folder. That is convenient

The new BETA changes the pics and video seen when booting, adds about 100mb of buildings and LOTs, and adds transport networks. So its worth sticking at it.

Well, you mean on loading? Cause I don't care to see SIMMARS on my monitor when my machine is restarting.

I like Simmars! Only thing is the vehicles. Also the strikers at the hospital seem to be chanting "We want air! We want air!"

I do like the highway systems they are going to have. I always wanted more road networks. Are there going to be Mars vehicles?

With the Simmars beta 2 I get the Simmars splash. I never watch the video so I don't know about that.

There is no video to my knowledge in beta 2. I think we need a lot more automata modders ( Yes that was a plea to any reading this) but there are a few things done. You still get the odd taxi and such, although props and models arent a problem.

I know of only a few automata modders. So yes indeed, like Timmystwin said, that is a plea. I hate having earth vehicles on Mars.
