Custom Airports

 Hi! Sorry if this seems repetitive but can someone point me to the right direction on what I should DL first so that I can create my own custom airports. I tried searching the STEX but so many files came up I don't know which I should download first.

Just search "RMIP" on the STEX. It's probably the best airport lots out there!

What I always say... The most popular sets are these right now:

The essentials for terminals, runways, taxiways, gates, etc.

RMIP-2 Packs (Vol1, Vol2 (this one is a dependancy for the above), Vol3, Vol4)

Don't be drowned in the huge amount of different lots that are used to create a big airport. Take youre time, learn how the pieces join together. Its like doing a puzzle while the final picture is being drawn.

Practice will make your skills better, and take your time!

OK that looks really pretty when its all said and done, but is all just a giant prop. It doesn't boost commerce or create jobs. Is threre an option out there that looks AND functions like an airport, because when my Sims demand an airport, they dont just want something that looks like one.

You can get 1x1 lots that you can plop within your city that give exactly the same advantages as having an airport. Also if you create a large airport in a region you could have those 1x1 lots in all of the cities near by to increase realism (sims travel across tiles to airport) although they don't really :-P

@Pod61: You can find that 1x1 airport lot (popularly called Airport Tram Mod) in this pack: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=1864 There are several old lotted (year 2003) functional airport lots coming with them, feel free to delete them if you feel you don't need them. The "relevant" one is the 1x1 lot.

Sweet, that solves my problems as well. Now i dont have to use those ugly maxis defaults.
