Problem with RHW connector pieces

I installed RHW 4.0 and ran into a problem with placing down the RHW-8S connector pieces. In the picture,  the direction of the piece that it is facing is the only direction the game will accept. Whenever I try to place a piece that faces toward the city's border, it automatically flips into the opposite direction. This has been annoying me since inter-city traffic on the RHW aren't showing up in other cities.

I notice in your image that you are attempting to make the connection on the east side of the map. Does it do the same thing at other map edges? I believe there is an issue with the connections on the east that is currently being looked into for a fix. I'll have to do a little reading to be sure, but you might try the other edges to see if they do the same.

That's a classic case of the "Eastside Issue"--it affects all of the multi-tile Neighbor Connector pieces (RHW-6C, RHW-8S, RHW-10--it does not affect the RHW-6S).  The reason its happening is because for some reason, the game inexplicably restricts the rotation of multi-tile puzzle pieces on the east side of a city tile if it is set up as follows:

I've been able to fix the problem on my end here by switching it to:

    -

    -

This will, however, require you to rebuild any existing RHW-6C, RHW-8S or RHW-10 Neighbor Connector Pieces, as changing the layout required us to change the IIDs of the paths/models for the pieces.

The fix will be tied in with the next NAM and RHW releases.  There's no date set for their release.  In the interim, try using two RHW-4 neighbor connectors side-by-side.

I tested it myself, it only occurs on the east side. A workaround would be to use an avenue or maxis highway, but it would look odd.

I have an another question that is unrelated to the topic, how do I get elevated RHW-4 to cross over dual RHW-8S? Everytime I try that, it shows up red.

Unfortunately, that functionality does not exist in the current release.  The Elevated RHW-4 can only cross the RHW-2, RHW-4 and MIS Ramps.  ERHW-4-over-RHW-8S will be possible with the upcoming Version 4.1 release, however.
