Everything is going well, and I am building a large tile.  The game is in the black, and demands are jumping.  There is a lot of open water around, and there is a cove beside my industrial park and one next to my residential park.  Even though I have provided good bus service, I'm thinking "What the heck!  Ferries are the fastest transport."  So, I terraform the shoreline a little to allow placing a car passenger ferry, then plop it.  Instant crash to the desktop, just a pause to take a dump.  Usual reason given.

Now why, by all that's holy, would a ferry lot crash the game.  I've just started and it is not crowded.  I have the current NAM, RTMT with SAM and all the goodies, and a few plugin lots of my own that have never caused a problem.

Is there something about this lot that causes some great stress on the game or tries to rearrange some of its tables when it is plopped?  I need two of them, and this happens on the first one.

It is not the first timie, but the other tile was really packed so I put it down to the usual memory problem you get with Linux/wine, which seems to have problems stepping on itself.

I know not many play with Linux, but anyone may have an idea.  Please....

It's a known issue, and a fix is currently undergoing testing. You can read this thread for more info and a temporary work-around if interested.

I don't know, but sometime within the past few weeks my Wine has started crashing SC4 completely randomly every 20-30 minutes, even more annoying...I'm trying to figure out what's wrong, have no clue what it could be though, maybe it's related somehow? What version of Wine do you have? I have 1.2 now.

EDIT: Guess you problem is a NAM problem. Wonder what my problem is 3.gif I'll figure it out eventually.
