Have you ever played games like A-IV Network and A-Train?  Well, I have, and they were kind of fun back then when the options weren't as good as they are today! 45.gif

Anyway, by pure coincidence I stumbled upon this A-7 thing, which seems to be a sequel to either A-IV Network or A-Train - or possibly even a mixture of them both.  Below are some images from the official site;

I certainly like the graphics, and if it's anything like either A-IV Network or A-Train I would definately want this in my collection of city-building games. 29.gif

However, since it's a Japanese game I'm not even sure if it's coming to Europe at all, and that would certainly be terrible out of many aspects.  The official A-7 site can found here; http://www.a-7.jp/

Perhaps one of our japanese friends can help us with some translations and further info about this excellent new game! 29.gif

Hey, I have a brother who's absolutely crazy about trains! 19.gif  Needless to say I share his fanatic interest - although I'm more into wheels!  Preferably larger wheels!

    Buses that is!

I remember playing this game back in the day. I would always cover the whole region with my conglomerate of X-cities with the railroads running around each sub-city. Then of course, turning the speed to max and coming back 4 hours later to see the urbanization.

Wow..it looks like some odd spliced version of SC4 and SC3k. Looks pretty cool!

Yeah, but with a bit of luck it might be released also here in Europe and the U.S.  At least both A-Train and the A-IV Network found there ways to our markets.  Just keep you fingers crossed! 29.gif

Still, I'm hoping for someone to give us some more info about it!

Yeah. This really makes me miss Transport Tycoon. I used to spend HOURS in that game!

These days, though, I spend much of my time that's not in SimCity gaming in Microsoft Train Simulator. Mainly because there's alot of local rollingstock for that game.

Sorry to break this with bad news, but They stopped releasing the A-## series games after A-IV because of a lack of interest in europe. The japanese continued developing them with A-5 and A-6 and now the 7th version much like simcity.

I really wish it would get brought to the west too, but I dont see it happening unless a company like EA buys rights and translates the whole thing.

on the bright side, I suppose someone with a lot of resources could decode the game and try and translate everything manually.

Yeah, that's definately bad news 7.gif  Of course, I assume it's always possible to buy it and have it shipped to Europe.  But then again there's this translation thing! 34.gif

Transport Tycoon used to be available online somewhere (and I'm pretty sure it was legally available). EDIT: here it is

I don't know if you're aware of it, but Chris Sawyer published a sequel called Locomotion about a year ago. It's ok, but it doesn't have the charm of TT.

But I do have good news... there's an open-source version of TT here: http://www.openttd.com/

I used to play A-Train on my Amiga (still have it - in a box in the garage 1.gif). I never really spent the time with it to really master it - sigh... Maybe when I get home this evening I'll download it from the Home of the Underdogs. A-Train is available here .

I've been intrested in this game for quite awile unfortuatly i haven't got my hands on it. and yes this is in affiliation with the A-train game. A-7 is basicly the sim city 4, and A-train is the sim city 2000.

i'd love a copy of this and would give and arm and a leg (medaphoricly speaking) for it. 29.gif44.gif

That is a cool game! To be honest, mass transit was the reason why I started playing SimCity a long time ago, but since I loved the other aspects of the game, I kept playing it.

Anyway, I wish there was an english version of the game. I always wanted to manage a train system, with rolling stock, tracks, etc...
