Hi, I was wondering how some people are able to build wall to wall housing in the architectural style that they want. When ever I play I always the exact houses I dont want, or I get the same houses a million times.

Does anybody have some tips for me? Ive been really wanting to build a dutch city in particular.

    Thanks!

Well, making wall to wall building is not hard you just need to know how large you want the lot size to be to make it a wall to wall building. To make it a wall to wall building you will have to make the model extend to the edge of the lot thats the left and right sizes of the building. If you look at the picture you can see that im making a building that will be 1x2 wall to wall building. The yellow arrow and a red arrow, those two arrows that are pointing to the two lines that do not want to past if so the building lot will have to be a 2x2. If the model so happen to past the line just a little bit you can scal the building to make it a wall to wall.

Im not the best at expeling thing but I have tryied to help you. I hope this work.

If you don't know how large a sim city grid square is

GMAX- Just right click on the 3 thats just below the Grid=16.0, and click on home grid and where its says Grid spacing put 16 and enter and thats the sim city 4 gird side. but you want to change it back to do your modeling.

3ds Max- Just right click on the 3 thats at the top of the near the menu bar, and click on home grid and where its says Grid spacing put 16 and enter and thats the sim city 4 gird side. but you want to change it back to do your modeling.

Controlling what grows is a time-consuming and tedious process... If you're that interested, there are some sort of guides ONE, ANOTHER, A THIRD.. I wouldn't call them tutorials

As it says in those links that SC4BOY posted, you can use a modd that stops all Maxis default lots from growing, thus giving your custom content less competition.  You could also go into the iLive Reader or the SC4 Tool and change them to grow in only one tileset, and uncheck the other tilesets.  You could tax out the wealth levels other than that of your desired plugin.  If the buildings were available as props, you could also make a large lot in LE of a rather rare size, removing any other custom lots of that size (Don't forget to bulldoze any existing lots of plugins you remove!  29.gif), zone for it and hope it will grow if you have enough demand.  I think it might be possible to modd this lot as a landmark and plop it.  Just a few ideas.
