SimCity 4 on MacBook

I want to install SimCity 4 at some time, but I'm too impatient to actually get it on the Windows partition of my hard drive (as no partition or software exists...yet)

There are a couple of things I want to know...

    1) I have SimCity 4 installed on another computer. Can I simply network the two computers and transfer the entire program?

    2) Should I download the Universal patch? I've heard it does bad things, but I forgot what they were.

    1) I would probably re-instal the game, yet transfer over the plugins and regions files. If you transferred it from one to the other, there is a chance that you may miss files that need to be on the computer for it to run, so I'd just go on the safe side and re-instal it on your MacBook and then transfer the plugins and regions files.

    2) Thats up to you really. I don't think it really helps out that much, so I don't think it will be missed if you don' instal it. I don't have it installed on my computer, so I don't think it is a must have.

If it is the Deluxe version, simply copy the Application from one computer to the other. Then copy your plug-ins file from your user folder on one computer to the other. The UB patch does help the program run faster on an Intel machine, but the settings for route colors is screwed up, and the graphics has some issues. You can certainly try it, and if it doesn't do what you want, simply replace the Application with the version you've backed up.

I did completely reinstall the program but I'm afraid to download the UB patch. Hopefully, it will run fine without a patch. I'm only using this as a stop-gap to wait for the PC version and relive the glory days, so to speak, but in the past five years, my schizophrenic behavior in the SimCity community serves an impediment to those lost days. See those 1,605 posts? A lot of those were crap. And I'm not even going to go into some of the other stuff.

Still, not all is lost. I will play and play right.

EDIT: The latest version of NAM, NWM, and RHW have been installed.

    RealHighway...psh. "Rural Highway Mod" forever!

I imported my old "Maxisland" region, but renamed it to "Post Crisis" as there was already a Maxisland. But for some reason, it didn't show up the region select!

I deleted a CITY-~83.SC4 file that seemed out of place with the rest...let's see if that does anything.

If all else fails, how do I salvage the cities from it?

P.S.: Sorry for bumping and double-posting, but I did have a significant update/problem.

P.P.S.: I figured out to import cities through my trusty old Prima guide. 49.gif
