If you are trying to "start" a BAT team, this is the wrong way to do it.

You should be showing off your work first (that is how "Show us your ___" threads work too). Maybe if you show the community what you have to offer, you will see a favorable response.

Ugh, another one of those "I start it but others do all the work" BAT team threads?

Like SimHoTToDDy says, lead by example. No one is interested in helping with your vision if you're not one of the first to bring something to the table to show...

GOOD TEXTURES ARE MADE, NOT FOUND.
(I get tired of saying that in BAT threads.)

"Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag them down to your level." - Quentin Crisp
"I believe in talking behind peoples' backs. That way, they hear it more than once." - Fran Lebowitz
"Ordinary morality is for ordinary people." - Aleister Crowley
"No one ever said on their deathbed, 'Gee, I wish I had spent more time alone with my computer.' " - Dani Bunten Berry

Let me first ask politely that you do not upload that building (to save you some harsh comments).

Take a look at your picture, the whole picture. Notice the buildings on the left, notice the buildings on the right, and notice how grossly over sized and poorly proportioned your building is. You will notice that the first floor of your building is at least 3 times bigger than one of the floors of the tower on the bottom right. There are numerous other issues, but they are a moot point if everything you make is going to be 300% taller than it ought to be.

Gmax has units. Units are the lengths attributed to the numbers you are entering in gmax. Gmax run in meters (a little more than a yard), keep in mind that a floor should be about 4m tall (give or take a little bit depending on function). Doors should be modeled to be 1m wide by 3m tall.

I know we have told you to read (and complete) the BAT beginners guide on the omnibus, but I'll tell you again; it covers all these things.

Pick a building (preferably small and manageable) and model it brick for brick. Pulling architecture out of your ass never ends well, so grounding your self in reality makes a huge difference when it comes to looking believable in game.

Keep these things in mind as you progress.

That is good for a first start but if you look at it its alot larger than everything else around it. Unless you intend for it to be a historical society for the Jolly Green Giant i would suggest scaling it down so that it is about the same size as the other buildings. This is what the scale button looks like:

    index.cfm?event=Main&path=Special.Files.

I would also sugeest adding more detail to the building. The roof needs it the most, and the side could use a little more also. Look at exsiting buildings in the game for ideas and try to make yours have the same types of details

    Never, EVER, upload that building.

First of all, look at real life pictures and look at it. Try to copy each detail if you can, and don't cheap out on it. You don't want it too be horrible don't you?

Another tip, try looking through at the BAT guides at the Omnibus. It goes through every step like the basics; making the walls, to the advanced; curved windows, walls, etc.

Finally, SCALE YOUR BATS!!!! This helps alot because it has to blend in with other buildings such as Maxis' and other notable ones.

Remember, you need to remember these tips while BATing, its not very easy making RL structures. You can go thru trail and error, but NEVER upload them to the STEX unless its the final product and looks ready.
