This is the first journal I have done, so please criticize.

First off I would like to thank City Planner for the excellent region creation I will be using for this journal.

Now I'm not going to be keeping track of any simoleons in this journal, as I want it to be more to see what I can really do, and not have to worry about the finance side of things (although I am getting rather good at it).

And now to the beginning:

This is the first part of the region I will be working in, which is name Alteridge Bay. The district I will be showing in this update is the beginning of the Bayview district, complete with its own seaport, and such. Feel free to suggest items that would go with the type of theme I'm trying to go for, and I might just include them if I can get them to work.

Bayview Seaport

^First off is a picture of the actual seaport area. This lower area is the industrial area, and is composed of a somewhat thin area of land.

Commercial in Bayview

^The commercial area is just now beginning to develop. This is up above the seaport area, and has a nice overview of the bay below. I really like those electric pillars better than the ones maxis provided too (thanks to fukuda), and of course the NWM by the NAM team is in here too 4.gif

Bayview Elementary

^The elementary school (I really don't like the maxis one that much though. If someone can suggest something that would go better, I would appreciate it)

Park Coming

^And then we have a large park planned off to the side of the mini neighborhoods located nearby. I know there were some nice paths created by Pegasus and Cleaner475, neither of which I can seem to get working correctly, and I know that there were some other paths that matched up with the textures from some of the parking lots and such, but I can't seem to find those either.

Thanks for viewing the beginning of Alteridge Bay for those who have read through everything so far.

Welcome to the world of CJ-ing, You have a good start here. Good use of pictures and letting us readers know where you got some of the mods that you are using.

God loves you

Good start on the Industrial area, but you kinda need to work on the displaying of other parts of your city.

It really helps to have zones hidden, or remove zones that haven't grown. Then fill them in later..

Or if you want to skip that and have the commercial be built right away, download the Super Demand Ordinace, or Radical Ordinance. They both make the demand for things skyrocket!

You are off to a good start. I'm still a rookie myself 3.gif but your city journal has some potential. When I didn't have radicalone demand mod, It took me 600 simyears to build a pretty good metropolis (as in achieving stage 8 skyscrapers). The only problem I have is the industry being close to the water30.gif. But you have some potential. Keep up the good work.

very good start you have here! my only suggestion is you can try to level out the land before building and you won't get those walls around buildings.. unless you like those! I think theres another way to avoid them by putting grass or something around the buildings, but don't quote me on that! great work.
