Hey all,

What types of interchanges would you like to see on the future editions of the NAM?

I would like to see the following 4.

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Interchange2.jpg align=baseline>

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Interchange3.jpg align=baseline><ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Interchange4.jpg align=baseline>

Those are the 4 i would love to see. Comments are welcome, and please feel free to add any more interchanges you would love to see on the future editions on the NAM.

    ive got a question, since i dont have NAM: how do you make new intersections? do you use a special program, or does it come with new intersections?

    The NAM (download link found on the Simtropolis home page). Has a few new interchanges, some of which should have been included with Rush Hour. Likewise there is also other features that include street bridges, one way bridges, as well as left turn lanes for the avenues.

    I would highly recommend you download it and see what its like 2.gif!

    I would like to see the highway Y-intersection at the top of the page completed. Maybe also an elevated one. I think a highway Y-intersection is long overdue!

    I don't know if this is possible but I'd like to see an interchange that would transition from a highway to a road or avenue instead of the barricades at the end of the highway.

    It is possible to to have a highway-avenue connection. Just drag the avenvue to the end of the highway.

    That makes 2 of us. That would be pretty unique to have that interchange in Simtropolis.

    That, err, double trumpet, would be great for highways divided a la the multi-highway guide. Or if we ever get one-way highway puzzle pieces. The biggest oddities are the left-side entrances/exits.

    The second time I'm asking for it..

    The nice and simple Trumpet Interchange..
    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Trumpet%20Suggestion%202.jpg align=baseline>
    It's too ugly to use the same SC T interchange all the time..
    Someone had tried to model it, but nothing else was done..

    yes I also support that interchange as well, the good ol' trumpet :D! I would also love to see the loop ramp ant the ramp on the opposite side of the flyover.

    I have changed the name of the thread. I have done this because we already have a request thread & development thread. So it's either this, which I think isn't a bad idea as we can have this dedicated to real life interchanges, or close it.

    One I would like to see is whats commonly referred to as the Jersey jughandle where you turn right to make a left.  Actually you turn right, make a curve and cross the road; thus eliminating left hand  turns and making traffic flow a lot smoother.

    Theoretically, something like that would be possible simply with textures, and probably wouldn't be too difficult for the fine modders of Simtropolis!  Along the same lines would be a Michigan U-turn, where you make a left turn by passing the intersection, going through a U-turn lane, and then turning right.

    I would like to request the SPUI (single point urban interchange).  It looks like the standard diamond interchange found in SC4, but where the avenue or roadway crosses the highway all the ramps converge at one intersection directly above or below the highway.

    BTW, that trumpet interchange model in this thread is looking good.  I would love to see that in the game as well.

    You can get it as part of the Network Addon Mod. Except, it doesn't look exactly like the picture above.

    I'm thinking of creating a Paperclip Interchange, as well.

    The one that I can think of is in the most up to date NAM is the Parclo with 2 highways. However its missing the 2 ramps that I requested (start of this forum post) with traffic lights!
