I need some help!

 I've just discovered this site and it's very awesome, but unfortunately I have a little problem. I've downloaded some buildings and they are not enlightened at night. And some other buildings don't show up properly, in stead of the building there is a huge box with sim city written on it. What should I do?

you need the latest SKU1 (or SKU2) update for night lighting...the huge brown boxes means you're missing some dependencies for the downloads you are trying to use. you should register for the LEX at www.sc4devotion.com there you can find the update and a list of all the dependencies that you could be missing. the sc4devotion home page has the night-lighting update right there but be careful when you download the update (because i tried downloading it and it messed up my game. i had to reinstall sc4) ....anyway welcome to the world of sc4 custom content.

Often, you might find that the nightlights on the buildings you downloaded do not show up when you switch to Night Mode in the game. To solve this issue, you need to download the two game updates, so follow the instructions below.

If you haven't already, you need to download the EP1 Update for the game.

For whatever region you live in, download the specific SKU file. For instance, if you live in North America, only download the file marked "sku 1".

Install the EP1 Update first by double clicking it and following the instructions. Then do the same for the SC4UpdateBAT file. A box will pop-up with "This program will apply changes needed to support the Building Architect Tool. Before you install this update (build 640) please make sure that you have applied SimCity 4 EP1 Update 1 successfully.". You can safely ignore it; just press OK.

Then you're done! 

Remember you need Sim City 4 Rush Hour or Sim City 4 Deluxe for these updates and most downloads to work.quote>

We recently changed forum software, so links have changed. I'm not sure whether the old links will eventually redirect to the new locations, but I hope they will.

Yea, it looks like you might have to manually search for the BATs on the STEX now instead of direct links.

The link redirects correctly when you replace the word "index" in the URL with "details".
