When Master Calls

 Frendo lurks in his corner of the dusty cellar. barely visible in the darkness. Worn, weakened and sleepy, yet unable to relinquish himself to rest. Only one, dim and pale eye, peers from underneath the long matted hair, of this enslaved user. That eye is peering, unblinking, ...watching for any sign of life, from across the small confines, of his underground prison.

Suddenly, the dank silence is broken, by a familiar breathing of life. Master calls and flashes its small green eye in Frendos direction.

Frendo scuttles from his hiding place, forever compelled to do masters bidding and plugs himself in.....Master Purrs with acceptance of this.

Ohhhh the pain of it, , thinks Frendo...and the utter joy of it too, Chimes Frendos, pathetically weak, conscience.

In Your Own Sweet Way - Dave Brubeck. I just got back from seeing Dave Brubeck and his current quartet live at Massey Hall in Toronto, and it was probably one of the best performances I've ever heard. The man is 85 years old but his fingers still zip up and down the keyboard like it's nothing! Amazing stuff.

Yet as master led his slave to their song for today; the very first group of artists on a very large list was.............SlipKnot

Pulse Of the Maggots to be specific. This song has powerful lyrics and gattling gun percussions. Not to mention, blazing guitar riffs with fantastic wammies thrown in and a lead solo reminescent of Yngwie only faster and harder.

  Although Slipknot is highly commercialized, it is deservedly so. There style of Black/death/core/gore metal is definitely on the mark and beyond it.
