Now I figured out that trouble with the cars in the night, and the traffic lights, and the ting with the game not loading correctly, but now it is something with one of the regions. For whatever reason one of the city tiles will not load, or whenever a neigbor connection is created to that tile the game will crash. Any ideas?

You may have installed the Left-Hand Drive version of the NAM (which messes up the non-British version). Please re-install the NAM with the Right-Hand Drive version installed.

Theres a game limitation that prevents the traffic lights being at the opposite end of a dual tile network intersection (they will just stay green).

Also, automata timing can be mitigated by using a radical automata controller in the NAM. 24hr version causes traffic to happen all the time.

I don't know what to put here anymore.

Allright... that explains it. Thank you. And I thought I would use this topic as my "bug" topic. I have another one for ya. I don't have a picture of it, "print screen" wont work, but whenever the game tries to load some weird screen comes up saying "Could Not Create The Direct 3D Device". It is a white box on a black background. Then it takes twice as long to load up and then it finally pulls up. And it aint just the game. Cities, regions, you name it.

Now recently, the SimCity Soceities demo automatically installed Microsoft NET Framework 2.0. Okay, no problwm, nothing killer. And I don't know if it is interfering in this or what, or if it is Direct X, my G-Driver software, or what. Does anyone know what that is supposed to be?

    Sounds like GPU/directX mismatch.

Open the Run box and type in: dxdiag then press enter.  This will run the DirectX diagnostics, which are pretty self-explanitory.

If you don't find anything, remember that you have to set up your GPU so that advanced features such as anti-aliasing are set to "application selected" to make sure they are turned off when SC4 runs.  It can't handle them.

.NET won't cause a problem because the game doesn't see it.

OK, figured that out. Thanks. It turns out, that my screensaver comes on after a minute to being idle, and then usually a minute into it loading it does that, so I turned off my screensaver and it fixed it.

Something is now wrong with one of the city tiles in Fairview. I try to load it and the game crashes. I make a neighbor connection to it and the game crashes. Would anyone know what this is? I took a snap of the bad tile. It is circled in red.

That tile appears to be undeveloped, so try this:

From your Program Files folder's Region folder in Simcity 4, copy the entire Fairview region to  your

Documents\Simcity 4\Downloads folder.  Then import the city you need at the region level of the game.  There is a tool to import a city.

You can clean out your downloads folder when you are done.  You will need to know which city it is.

Oh, and if that doesn't do it, it is one of the surrounding tiles.

Yes, it gets copied to your working directory from the game directory.  You work in some folder like My Document\Simcity 4\Regions but the originals are in Program Files\Maxis\Simcity 4\Regions.  It allows you to restart a region just by recopying it.

OK. I didn't know that. I will get to work, fixing my little issue.

    Copy it or move it?
