I built a city with a train system so that the jobs were at one end and the residential at one end.  Before long, however, I had like 20 train stops right next to eachother because they were being used, (all of them at 5k now,) and its getting on my nerves. I'm sorry- I can't show a picture because I'm having trouble finding the disc, (34.gif). Help, to like make my train system better?

34.gif awkward problem you have there. why not use a 'major railway station, you should unlock it after a bit. or, you could use a alterative to rail, like elevated or monorail.

I would suggest you implementing a subway system to help your overloaded train network, it covers very little surface area (above ground) and it has a decent capacity, other than that im sure the above stated idea is also worthwhile.

If you are trying to go for a no road type of city, maybe a single highway to the work area?

Try using a highway to connect the two areas together. It will provide traffic relief to the railway. Also, use buses to help with mass transit needs.

There are some stations you can download on the STEX that have higher capacities. It's unfortunate that while NAM increases network capacities, the maxis stations were left at their default capacities. However these stations are very easy to mod with the iLive reader. That's one of the first things I did when getting back into SC4, and it gave me experience with the iLive reader which I now use daily for everything I download.
