SC4 on a netbook.

 Im new here and was wondering if anyone could help me.

I recently purchased a netbook (without a disc drive) and wanted to play SC4:RH. I was wondering if there was anyway to download a trial/demo and then verify my game with my serial key on the back of my game box.

Ive searched around and havent had any luck. If anyone can help me id be very grateful.

As a SimCity 4 RH user with a netbook (Gateway LT3103u), I understand your situation, but unfortunately I don't think this is possible.

To get the game working on my netbook, I caved in and picked up an external slot load (I know -- adding to the cost of a netbook) USB DVD-RW drive.

It only takes a bit more hard disk space, but being an external USB drive, I no longer need to worry about CD/DVD drive issues in the future.

Thanks for the reply 33Rev.

I have looked into the possibility of that but i was hoping for a cheaper option. If anyone else knows of any other way without having to spend a considerable sum id greatly appreciate it.

The game uses the CD in the drive for registration verification. A USB CD drive is the perfect solution and serves you as a loading/backup drive in any case.. money very well spent even if you never play the game.

People have done it already.. so it can be done.. may not be what you'd WANT to do.. if you keep things small and simple it would work fine
