Overlaps Protected Area

Im trying to plop some water and waterfall tiles and for some reason, I keep running into the same problem.  I'll be plopping tiles and once in a while one will turn pink and say "Overlaps Protected Area"   How do I make this go away so I can plop my stuff?

A couple things you can try...

One, de-zone the area, then try plopping again. And two, move the selected piece several squares away from the place you're trying to plop it. Then move it back to see if it's blue.

I have the same problem and i have done that... I even got rid of the whole thing to where there was water there and then brought it back up to where there was land and it is still saying it... I thought it might have been the pipes and so i redid the pipes in that area and that didnt work.... I have tried almost everything.. i say almost because obviously there is something that can fix it and i just dont have it yet...

Any Help please let me know....

I remember running into this problem when I ever I tried to make custom seaports. What usually worked for me is using a terrain tool (doesn't matter which one) and clicking once or twice in the are I'm having trouble with. This usually undid whatever caused the problem.
