hardware mode problem

hi,

when I run sc4 in software mode the game runs perfect, but when I have sc4 in hardware mode, when I scroll in the game, everthing disapers but when I stop scrolling everthing re-appears? is there a way you can fix that?

my computer is just a normal windows xp home edition with intel pentium 4 with no upgrades.

The best way to fix your issue is to keep using software mode.  Hardware mode is for people with a grapichs card, and if your computer has no upgrades, then it probably has a onboard grapichs card, which will only properly work with software mode.

Go to your computer maker's web site (or if you built it yourself to the card maker's site) and check for graphic driver updates.. the game should work fine on most properly configured P4 systems.. of course running in software mode is another option

SC4BOY, I have the  RADEON 9200 LE SEC Family (microsoft Corporation) graphics card so is there a website (link) that I can download this update (free?) for? and will this fix my hardware problem? as I really want to have SC4 in hardware mode.

You should still be able to get the drivers at the AMD/ATI web site.

If you use the game option for software rendering, it won't affect using HD in other programs.

Please use the edit function rather than making sequential replies.

but then If I download a hd mod, I it will come up in my game as a multi coloured box?

Why do you say "microsoft corporation"? That card is manufactured by ATI .. are you using the default microsoft drivers? Yes all downloads for drivers are "free" at the ati site . .check it out via HERE . I correctly downloaded the program and used the auto install, but it did not help simcity. is there anything else that I have to do with that program that I downloaded?

There are some combinations of ATI cards, drivers, and operating systems that will not use the game hardware rendering properly.
