hi all.

While playing simcity, i like to customise the landscape as i build my cities. While doing so, i like to try complicating the landscape within the cities but find it hard having no control over the terraforming brush size. Is there a mod where by i can terraform the landscape without destroying the cities, such as roads, rail and buildings?

It can be a nightmare when you want to construct something involving the landscape but building and destroying roads and railways in order to tweak the lanscape can be a nightmare.

Any one know of any mod at all? if there isnt, would a mod like this be a good idea?

Thnx.

When you hold down shift and press a number between 1 and 9, you can get smaller or larger brushes. It can be done by god mode terrainforming tools, as well as the mayor mode tools, the forest tool, the animal tools, and even other tools uploaded on the STEX. It does not, however, have effect on the size of the brush when either control or shift is hold down, as those have effect on the size as well. It will still destroy the networks or other buildings when hovered over those with the tools, but with smaller brushes, you will have less change to hit them.

You can also use road or rail tiles, While plopping them one by one and side by side you will be able to create flat gounds ideal to build on, and all this without destroying anything that already has been built. 2.gif

    Hi.

Thank you for the reply guys. i appreciate it.

When going about building my cities i normally keep the entire map flat, to build over. Im not a fan of what buildings tend to look like when they on a hill, held up by their foundation doesnt really appeal hehe. When ive done part of a city that ive visioned, i go back into terraforming the landscape for that look, which involves the digging tools and plopping a road piece per tile. To make it look realistic, cities naturally dont have flat surfaces and building hills and such around them helps to create an illusion so to speak. making the hills look hilly rather than carved out by digging tools or road per tiles, look better.

Thank you for letting me know about changing the brush sizes of terraforming. Its improved my cities alot now due to this feature. no more destroying roads, rail and buildings as a rsult.

    Thanks.
