cant install lots

hi all,

i registered on simcity website ( http://simcity.ea.com   ), and when i try to dowload a lot, it is said that sim city is not installed on my comp, whereas it is on C: hard disk.

What should i do please ?

Do you have the downloaded version? If so, this might be the cause.

What are you looking for on the Maxis Exchange anyway? There's only junk over there, and if you find something that looks decent, in 99.5 % of all cases it will turn out to be pirated from other sites such as Simtropolis, SC4D, SimCityBrasil, or Japanese or Chinese sites.

Ok, yes i have the downloaded version (bought on gamesplanet.com)

Ok i'm planning to download lots here, from simtropolis. But i need to complete the process ( https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=22&threadid=108100&enterthread=y 

to get Custom content taht works.

But i still need bldgprop_vol1.dat and bldgprop_vol2.dat files that i didn't find on simcity.ea.com despite the fact that, as i said, i'm registered.

What should i do ?

Are you sure you are talking about SimCity 4? It is not avalible for download anywhere not even gamesplanet.com The only game you can buy there is City Life, Not SimCity

Look in the guide, it says to scroll down when you do there are links that arent on the ea site

  

You will also need to download the Official Maxis Props, bldgprop_vol1.dat and bldgprop_vol2.dat.

These can be found here: http://homepage.mac.com/zelgadis/.Public/bldgprop_vol1.dat

and here: http://homepage.mac.com/zelgadis/.Public/bldgprop_vol2.dat

Save them both to "My Documents/Sim City 4/Plugins"

Remember you need Sim City 4 Rush Hour or Sim City 4 Deluxe for most of the downloads to work. quote>

@ Xylo: Yeah, I was quite surprised as well when I read for the first time that someone had downloaded the game - legally, that is. It does seem to exist, though, but AFAIR, something about the download keeps you from using the official site because - as guitounet wrote - the game is not recognized as installed.
