Draggable Grassy area

So, i've come to hate the Grassy area ploppable with a passion.  I tend to put them between single and 4x4 houses alot to make things look nice and for the effect of the park but am tired of dropping them one at a time.

Is there anything that gives me the same park affect of each tile but is draggable over an area?  Like where i can zone a piece of grassy area?

Or am i going about it all wrong in building my residential areas?

That's actually a really great idea!!! I could really use some draggable PEG water tiles. I have seen some textures that can be painted onto the ground with a brush effect, but this method is kind of tedious as well, especially when you are trying to cover large areas. I think that because of game mechanics, only roads and zones are draggable, but even a 4x4 water or grass tile would come in handy.

A draggable kind of park could require a network modification, but then it would require a very high slope so it wouldn't deform the terrain, and a starter piece. It's just a thought. 1.gif

From the technical side of things, I am not sure if we could develop something like that, but while it would come in handy for sure in some situations if we could do it, I doubt that draggable grass or surface water would be really convenient in most situations. Any zoning would create a rectangle, but greens and lakes are rarely rectangle, but usually have a very irregular shape, so you'd have to click a lot, and there's no way that the edges of such a zone would form lakeshores and such automatically. With a set of convenient lots, like most park sets that are around do offer, you can cover large areas pretty fast as well, and the lots have the advantage that they already include various props and textures, such as trees and park trails.
