Problem with avenue over sunken traffic

Hi guys,

I have a problem with creating an avenue that crosses a sunken highway:

On the left side of the cutting I want to create an intersection between two avenues like on the right side next to the sunken GLR station. I try to place the "T"-Avenue OnSlope Puzzle Piece like so:

tavenueonslope.jpg

But the result is this:

I tried to place a street or a  road between the highway and the slope. But when I did so it was absolutely impossible to place the Ave.-on-slope puzzle piece. I tried to place water pipes to make ground lifting impossible but it didn't work. When I place the slope-puzzle piece first then it's impossible to drag the crossing avenue over it afterwards.

Why did it work on the other side of the cut? I searched the forums but couldn't find any entries concerning this problem.

Can anybody help me?

Thank you.

Thomas

Thanks for your advice but it doesn't work:

    Or did I misunderstand you?

    Any other possibilities?

That might be because there is that road intersection that you didn't destroy. It should just be a straight avenue with no intersection. Then you will be able to drag the avenue through it.  2.gif

Try plopping down the normal one, demolish the stub, then plop the T down on top of that. That should give you a stretch of straight avenue. If that doesn't work, demolish the G to E part of the normal piece instead of the stub. Also you could try anchoring the tiles below it.

I don't know what to put here anymore.

When I just build the T-piece and then try to draw the avenue through it it's just the same. See pic:

to ImVhOzzi: Yes, I am using avenue-puzzle pieces as you can see.
to Blue Lightning: Sorry, but I think I didn't really get waht you meant in your last post ...

Use the "STRAIGHT on slope" instead of the "T on slope". That way you won't get a road junction.  You should be able to drag an avenue over that.

jim 546: Sorry, dragging an avenue over straight avenue on slope is impossible:

ImVjozzi, yes, I tried to use "T"-Avenue OnSlope Puzzle Pieces.

    Any other opinions?

Maybe we really did discover a "bug" in the NAM...?

Is it absolutely imperative for your avenue to run right next to the slope? You could try to move the avenue one tile in at that section, so that the interchange works.

Haha ... the avenue really should run right next to the slope ... That's why I starded this thread.

Well, meanwhile I found out how the intersection can be created:

    lincolnpark2feb60712709.jpg

Put the T-Avenue on slope-Puzzle piece on the slope but don't connect it to the avenues.

    lincolnpark2feb60712709.jpg

The draw the straight avenue onto the puzzle piece.

    lincolnpark2feb60712709i.jpg

Conntect both avenues with one way roads.

    lincolnpark2feb60712709f.jpg

Then demolish the road on all tiles marked with a red "X" on the picture above.

    lincolnpark2feb60712709.jpg

Then draw the crossing avenue ... the result should look like above.

    lincolnpark2feb60712709c.jpg

Now you can draw the straight avenue onto the T. The result should be a perfect avenue intersection.

    This is the final Avenue-over-sunken-highway-and-GLR-section:

    Thank you,

    Thomas

Good deal there, silvercanyon2000. I've been playing around with this since I saw your first post - just never hit upon the right combination as you did. I actually brought it up in the NAM thread at SC4D. I'll let them know you solved it. Thanks for showing how it can be done.

Edit: Had a response that's basically the same but a bit shorter...

Plop the On-slope, run one-way through the intersection.

Bulldoze the one-way stubs, drag the avenue out to two tiles.

Drag the cross avenue through. Done.quote>

There is a simpler way, Plop the T slope, drag avenue out of it. Drag rail over the road crossing. Delete the normal rail tails either side of the Avenue, this will destroy the Level crossing but leave the Avenue in tact. So you can know drag Avenue over it.
